Zoeller 10-4011 High Water Alarm with battery

After installing, 3 months later, it just kept alarming and does not reset!!!

A year ago we purchased a house that has been neglected a bit. So during our remodeling we had some guys doing some work in our basement. Well, they shut off by mistake the sewer grinder pump for the whole house (the house is below the town sewer line, hence the pump). So we woke up in the morning and when looking for something in the basement we saw the "horror" - flooded by our own "stuff"! Not pretty! Not pretty at all!It seems that the previous owner disconnected the old alarm (220V and defective). I have looked for such an alarm for a while and found several but at astronomical prices! So I had a revelation when someone mentioned that the float inside the pump tank (inaccessible by me) is just a switch and it should work with any alarms. So we got this Zoeller as we trust the brand.Installation was very simple - cut the included cable and connected to the wires that go inside the pump housing. Tested the alarm and it worked perfectly. It is loud - right next to it it becomes unpleasant, and my wife told me she could hear it from the upper level as well. The nice thing about it is that its was a battery back-up as well, which proved very handy during the first day of Sandy (until I had the chance to install the generator I have been keeping in a box for a year almost - but that's another story...)So this is very recommended - versatile, and it works with other floats as well, which for us was a very, very good thing!

If you know the true purpose of the Zoeller float alarm,then you never want it to signal an alarm. My sump pump and well system is working fine. However, it's only been installed for a couple of years. The float alarm has been tested and it kicks off a loud alarm as well as flashed a red LED. Otherwise, it just sits there with a green LED. Always install the float alarm on a separate electrical circut from the sump pump because the circuit breaker could trip due to the sump pump failure and you don't want to loose power to your alarm system.

After about the third time the pump did not operate because of toilet paper holding the float down (seems like whenever the grandkids are here) I got tired of cleaning up the mess. This alarm was easy to install (I'm almost a pro at getting the inspection cover off of the pump by now) and seems to be loud enough to wake the dead ,even the grandkids(bless their hearts). They should now be able to hear this thing even when they are in the shower. Love it so far---Hope it does the trick.

I bought 2 of these a few years back when I finished my basement off. One for the sump water pump and one for the sewer grinder pump. These both have worked flawlessly and have both saved my a$$ from a big mess in my basement. For the money and ease of installation it is a no brainer if you do not want an indoor swimming pool in your basement.
