DEWALT Air Ratchet, Square Drive, 3/8-Inch (DWMT70776L)

Bought to replace a 25 year air wrench that finally died. Comparing the two this one is considerably more powerful. Pretty loud, but if you can get past that, it seems like a real powerful, quality built tool.

unlike the ones at the club, this ratchet works great although it is VERY loud compared to other air ratchets.at the price point the reviews didnt scare me off, ive owned it for a while and used it on my engine swap project, added oil per instructions and never had any issues with it spitting oil out, its safe to assume people treat this new age tools like the old ones that took oil by the quart (lol)the only downside is the lack of case and the weight, its a solid SOB but if you're a weekend warrior like me and not using it on the daily, its perfect, word to the wise, you'll need more than a pancake compressor to move bolts that aren't stuck, when this is hooked up to the shop compressor it works wonders, pulled 20 year old + bolts off of my Tahoe thats spent its entire life in Minnesota, as the saying goes, its not the tool its the operator

It simply works. No problems or exceptions. Strong tool for real needs.

My old air ratchet died so I found this replacement. So far it works well. A 1/4” male connector is included. We will see how it holds up.

As an automotive technician with over 20 years of experience I thought the Dewalt 3/8" air ratchet was a very good air ratchet for the price when compared to other professional brands. From my experience, the air ratchet is strong enough to last in day to day use for about 9 - 12 months before the ratchet would fail typically from lockup because I never oil my air tools and the shop I work for has a lot of water in the air lines. The air ratchet is not very fast and does not provide superior torque like the top performing air ratchets from other professional brands, but does provide consistent power strong enough to break most bolts free without locking up. Typically the tightest bolts I could break free with the air ratchet were from an installation torque range of 20 - 50 ft lbs. What I like most about the slow consistent power of the air ratchet is the level of control I have as the air ratchet does not "break my knuckles" or fly uncontrollably into other parts and break them during vehicle repairs. The cost is another aspect I like about this air ratchet because 2-3 of these air ratchets can be purchased for 1 air ratchet of similar quality from other professional name brands and, for me, the 2-3 Dewalt air ratchets I would buy have a total service life longer than the warranty period of the other name brand ratchets. Considering the cost and performance to other name bands the Dewalt air ratchet has been a consistently dependable air ratchet well worth the cost for any automotive technician who gives care and respect to their tools.

The tool is solid which means it has more weight than cheaper models. It’s size may not make it great for tight spaces, but where it can be used it provides good torque for removal of nuts and bolts. The reversible direction is easy to adjust and the tool fits well in the hand. Ensure adequate lubrication is applied to avoid water intrusion or buildup and to keep the tool functioning for a longer life.

This air ratchet works great and has plenty of power and torque.
