Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Harry Potter)

While this is not a "story" as I was imagining, it is a collector's treasure. If you are a harry potter fan this is a great addition to your collection. The illustrations are incredible, I am in awe at the quality of this book.

I love the illustration of the art in the book. It made the book engaging for a magical creatures fan.

As I already owned a copy of the original textbook version of this book, the one with the heavily graffiti-ed additions, by Harry and his mates, I was sceptical when I read the reviews which said that those additions would be absent from this book. Thankfully, the book itself is so beautifully illustrated and detailed, that I didn't actually miss those additions... Okay, maybe a little bit. What I did love, however, was the inclusion of beasts from the American side of the pond, although I noted, curiously, the absence of the Pukwudgie, from the Ilvermorny creatures. The Wampus, the Thunderbird (my favourite boy, Frank) and the Horned Serpent are all present, but William's species is missing. It didn't seem fair, but perhaps there may be more to his story in the coming films, and so I'll wait to see if he is included in another revision. If it's anything as pretty or detailed as this one, I will definitely have to add it to my collection.

A big beautiful hardcover coffee table book.Pros:The pages are made of thick textured Matte paper - like the paper artists use for watercolor paints. Hence,The images of the animals are done to look like their artsy watercolor paintings.- Contains lots of extended fold out pictures of the fantastic beasts animals.Cons:- The hardcover has no slipcover, which normally I prefer not to have, provided the books hardcover exterior doesn’t look cheap. Having said that, there is something cheap about the outer packaging of this hardcover. I’ve purchased books 1/3 the cost of this that had a much more attractive look to it (having used different types of cardboard material and fabrics to dress it up). Also the colored image on the face of the book does not do the images inside any justice. The UK edition has a much more appropriate cover art on it. Which makes me wished I ordered that copy. I included a picture of the uk edition for you to compare.- It is a bit expensive when you compare it to the costs of the newly illustrated hardcover Harry Potter editions, which have hundreds more pages in them than this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this version of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them! The moving illustrations were fantastic. They really made it more of a wizards book than a muggle copy.

Great story

I'm excited to own this book. The pictures are beautiful. I agree some of the animals look like everyday animals... But maybe they did that on purpose. Maybe these magical animals MUST be similar to non-magical creatures otherwise us poor muggles would catch on? Lol. My only complaint is that they're isn't a pronouciation guide. (Unless it's in there somewhere and I missed it? I did just get the book... But it certainly isn't on each page, underneath the beasts name in parenthesis.) I don't know how to pronounce all these animal's names! Sigh. I still love the book and recommend. Please see photos and I will post a video in the videos section. Also, after making the video and looking through the book again, there is one, two page fold out directly in the middle of the book. I both love and hate it lol. Bc it was fun to find but I worry about the pages getting ruined as I have 2 children who are reading Harry Potter with me and already have gone through my new book twice lol

Esta muy bonito y todo el libro esta hecho con materiales de buena calidad, las ilustraciones están muy bonitas. No es barato pero vale la pena si te gusta el universo de Harry Potter.

Livro impecável, maravilhoso em todos os sentidos, uma edição super luxo. Fico muito feliz em ter na minha coleção. As ilustrações são lindas, uma qualidade excepcional!

Wonderful illustrations. It's a must have for Harry Potter fans.
