Great Sample Pad
This sample pad is perfect for what I do. I'm a drummer and I use this pad to playback droning synth sounds and small music samples when my band plays live. It stores up to 12 different samples and by using a very simple file naming system that the instructions explain clearly; you can set the samples to play back either indefinitely until you strike the pad again or just let them play back once. It's pretty rugged as well, all metal chassis, similar in feel to Boss guitar pedals. I hit this thing with a drum stick pretty hard and I'm not afraid it will break.Something to be aware of is that the samples have to be 16 bit wav files. You cannot use mp3 or 24 bit samples. Not so much of an issue but I did have a couple samples that we got from the recording studio that I had to save out to 16 bit so they would play back.I would buy it again if it were lost or stolen, but it is a little pricey for what it is so I would have to wait a bit to $ave up.

Easy to use
I like the setting are is to operate and the sound and tone of course the of setting the clap sound you bend it to sound like full clap or a snap finger sound tom sound are also great changes like a regular drum sound or electronic tom

Reliable single shot pad, Very easy to add a decent palate to your live rig!
Added this to my live cover/wedding band rig, worked perfectly well for what I needed, which is really just claps and 808s. I'm using the first two clap samples, the pre-loaded 808 and I added a much longer decay 808 in the custom sample spot. I kinda wish I could overwrite the other samples I'll likely never use but you never know! I might end up using those anyway. Either way it's a great little unit, comes with the mounting bar/clamp and works fantastic for me. I leave it on the lowest sensitivity and mid-range threshold so it never false triggers while being mounted on my hats. Would absolutely recommend for any working drummers! Of note: I did buy an external power supply so I wouldn't have to mess around with batteries.

A good unit... Certainly worth it at the sale price.
The SPD::One Kick is a well made unit and seems tough enough to take on the road. At the regular price it's a bit expensive but at the sale price of 50% off it is well worth the money. The kick sounds are decent, though nothing extraordinary. My one criticism is that there are too few kick drum sounds, given that this unit is supposed to be dedicated to that instrument. Still, it's a useful tool and much better sounding than the piezo pickup stomps that it competes with.

Solid piece of kit! Would recommend!
I mainly use this as a simple midi controller for turning loops on and off in Digital Performer. It works great! Never misfires when hitting my acoustic drums, built like a tank! The only reservation I had is that the USB micro-b connection is on the left side of the pad, which seems stupid and prone to hitting with a stick (I am using this as a MIDI controller afterall) To combat this I'm using a right-angle micro-b cord, and it along with some properly placed velcro (strain relief), makes it nearly impossible to strike with a sick. The mount that comes with it works really nice. I have mine mounted off my high hat stand (see picture). Wish it came with the power cord, but all in all it's a great little pad.

Not for me
This is a solid, clever product. The quality of the sounds is pretty good. But the sound samples that are built into the percussion version just didn’t work for me. I play guitar in an acoustic band and i wanted convincing shaker and tambourine sounds, and I wasn’t able to make this sound as good as miking the real things on the floor and tapping them. Maybe the fully programmable version would be better for me, but I decided to just do it the old fashioned way.

Works Great!
I would only recommend this for musicians who are performing live or doing some professional home recording as it's pretty expensive, but it sounds great. I had another stompbox I was using for a few years I bought for $40 and it worked great too, but the sound on this is so much better and gives you way many other options (20 or so built-in effects). I've already used it 2 times now live and pretty much stick to the kick and tambourine setting. The only thing I don't like is the battery power doesn't last long, so be sure to get a power cable or use your daisy chain if you have one.

Great!
Ordered and came the very next day. Works great and has more effects than I anticipated! Have it set up with my drum kit next to the high hat and snare. Comes with batteries but there is no adapter power cord. Needs 4 AA batteries so bought rechargeable batteries and four more for backup for practice or gigs.
