A Plump and Perky Turkey

I bought this book to read to my grandchildren on Thanksgiving. I read it to my husband when we received it and we thought it was so fun that we recorded me reading it for my out of town grandkids who won't be coming for Thanksgiving. It's soon to be one of our favorites! The story is really fun, it's fun to read with clever rhyming lyrics and the illustrations are bright and fun.

This witty, rhyming picture book is perfect for Thanksgiving! The people of Squawk Valley want a turkey to eat for Thanksgiving, so they hold a turkey art contest. Their plan is foiled by the clever and tricky turkey.It is such a cute book! I bought the Kindle version for my kids and we read it on Thanksgiving. If you missed out on this book that day, you will have to pay a little more, but it is still a bargain at $3.99. Definitely worth the money!The Illustrations: Loved the illustrations. The artwork was quirky and silly, just like the story. The cleverness of the turkey is beautifully rendered in these pictures.

This story cracked all of us up throughout the month of November. The rhyming in the story is done really well, and it's just a fun story to read. We read it countless times - my 13 year old down to my 2 year old! I read the other reviews about the font being too small and hard to read, and that is true. I think if it were a different font the smaller size wouldn't be that big of a deal, but the font and smaller font size do make it a bit tricky. Font choice and size aside, this is a great book that I would recommend to others wanting to build a Thanksgiving book library.

I got this book a long time ago at a book fair for my kids. They loved it. It puts a different perspective to Thanksgiving . I recently bought it for a teacher friend of mine and the kids loved it and even made turkeys out of different materials just like in the book.

I got this book for my classroom, it was a fun new story for thanksgiving. I would give 5 stars, however the lettering on the inside is very hard to read even with my reading glasses. It needs to be bolder or larger for easy viewing.

I love this story. Great rhyming and fun to read aloud too kids in my classroom.

Loved this book however it’s pretty small. But still a cute story and my 2 year old liked it. We buy a book for every holiday and this was perfect for his thanksgiving reading. Would recommend and buy again

Best kids book for thanksgiving, particularly if your family is plant-based/vegan/vegetarian. The turkey escapes!
