Dead of Winter: Good Good Dog

I love the games and I really enjoyed this story. The art was solid, the characters where realistic and Sparky is just a great character.

Sparky a good ol dog , is surviving the winter apocoalypse full of zombies . The TV show stunt dog has turned into a zombie killing machine and just wants to get hugs from the people he is protecting . Will Sparky be able to keep his people safe . The characters in the graphic novel are well written. Sparky is a cross between best friend and a zombie killing machine . All he wants is family and scratches . The story is good and you are taken on an adventure that will have you cheering . The illustrations are well drawn and I love the way the author took them . The dialogue is a bit cheesy at times but that's what makes it such a cute comic. Its a different take on the zombie apocalypse . This is a fun book that will have you reading all night long

'Dead of Winter: Good Good Dog' by Kyle Starks with art by Gabo is a graphic novel based on a tabletop game.The zombie apocalypse can be rough but when you have an amazing dog like Sparky, things can be a little easier. Sparky, who is a former TV stunt dog, hates zombies with a vehemence. When the people around Sparky are dumb enough to find themselves in a jail and an abandoned mall, Sparky may come to the rescue, wielding a katana in his mouth, so he can kill even more zombies.I'm not familiar with the board game, but the premise is basic zombie survival with the same kind of stereotyped characters. The reason to read this is to see how ridiculous this dog is at killing. I would have liked better art.I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Oni Press and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

I'm a fan of Dead of Winter in general. it's a regular play for me, my husband, and our game friends. When I noticed the graphic novel on NetGalley, I immediately requested it.I was not disappointed. The graphic novel features many of the characters you know and love including Forest, Sparky, and Ruckus. The main story revolves around their search for weapons at the police station with the Wonder Dog.This graphic novel was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the style. There were even a few legit laughs hidden in among the "zomboys". A good take on a worn genre. I loved the light-hearted tone. Worth a read and I'll probably pick up the next one when it's released

Sparky is the hero of Dead of Winter: Good Good Dog which is a comic rendition of an adventure in the game Dead of Winter. The zombie hating dog manages to help save many of the characters by providing warnings, knifes, swords and even knocking over a policeman by driving a car! With his red cape, Sparky provides a splash of color in an otherwise bleak landscape. If you like funny zombie apocalypses, do read Dead of Winter: Good Good Dog!

Good boy, Sparky! Interesting cross between The Walking Dead and Lassie. I liked the use of colors. The graphic novel was mostly in black and white with splashes of color. It was a fun quick read.Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book, which I voluntarily chose to review.
