James Earl Jones Reads The Bible: King James Version

His voice is everything. His reading is a delight to listen to.

This is an excellent reading of the New Testament by the incomparable James Earl Jones. Note that it is just that, a reading, and not in any way a dramatization. Excellent for reading along with, or for those who remember better when they hear something as opposed to simply reading it. As others have mentioned the dubbing in of his voice in spots was amateurish on the part of editors, but did not negatively impact my overall opinion of the reading itself. As we all know Jones' voice is powerful, articulate, and soothing, and is a delight to listen to. If you're looking for a no-frills presentation of the KJV-NT then I highly recommend this version.

This is a Christmas present for my mother who is 92 years young.She will be able to listen to the Bible being read to her by a male role model whose voice is both demanding and soothing at the same time.We have not opened and listened to it yet. It is a Christmas present to be opened on December 25th.The price was very affordable. Thank you.

I love his voice! This is such a great reading of the KJV. Also, I know some people were writing that the inserts sound loud and different but what do you expect, the man to read the whole chapter- out loud- without any mistakes. That's impossible. It really is awesome to listen to in the car. 5 stars all the way!!!! Oh and I also like the container that it comes in as my discs will not get damaged.

James Earl Jones does a great job ready the King James version of the New Testament! Background music is a little annoying hence the 4 star review.

James Earl Jones is the perfect person for narration. I think the deepness of his voice in addition of his clear pronunciation of words along with the expression he puts into what he reads deems him the perfect person for this type of task. He is not boring to listen to. Listening to these CDs are very relaxing and inspiring. The sound quality is great. I love it!

Beautiful version. His voice is epic and awesome!! He speaks perfectly...nice and quiet.....not too fast or too slow...just perfect. I am a Type A, and if I think it is perfect, that is amazing. Some other ones I heard over the years were way too slow, so you wanted them to get going. My other family members also think it is perfect. Love his voice. Well worth it to get this!! SUPERB

Love listening to "James Earl Jones Reads the Bible". It's hard sometimes for me to focus on reading such readings as the Bible. So much easier to have it read to you and James Earl Jones does a wonderful job doing just that. Love his voice which makes listening to it so much more interesting.

The outer case was a bit shabby but the cds are perfect, so this is exactly as described. Arrived earlier than than advised. Very happy with this.

Lovely deep rich voice. Reads slowly , unlike a nkj version i have where it is read really fast.Highly recommended.
