The Cat Who Wore a Pot On Her Head Paperback – May 1, 1987

My children and now my grandchildren adore this story about the cat who wore a pot on her head. Because she is not hearing clearly very funny things happen as a result. There are many laughs to be had throughout the story and a very touching, heartwarming ending.

This story is about a young cat who lives with her large family, and is so sick of the noise, that she begins wearing a pot on her head to muffle it. When her mother goes to take care of a sick friend, she is appointed to run messages back to her siblings, and repeatedly garbles the basic directions first into complete gibberish, and then into really nonsensical tasks. (chairs end up nailed to walls, a moose is asked to stand in the sink, etc)While the art style is not particularly my favorite, the pictures are nonetheless quite silly, matching the silly story.My ONLY complaint, from childhood to now, is that it resolves (SPOILER) in the mother cutting holes in the pot and putting it back on her head. ...Apparently it doesn't matter that this completely negates the purpose of her wearing the pot in the first place. But, oh well, it's more about the silly misunderstandings than it is about the ending. In that respect, it's well worth it.I read this over and over as a child, and I've replaced the worn copy a couple of times, and gifted it. I've read it easily a hundred times while babysitting. It always gets lots of giggles. I'd absolutely recommend sharing this with someone young when given the chance.

I had this book on cassette when I was a kid and my mom and I used to always listen to it and laugh. I wanted to get a copy for my son that he could read with Grandma and I.

This is a wonderful story of Bendemolena "the cat with a pot on her head" We read this story to our children as they were growing up and laughed every time. We had a "cat with a pot on her head" in our home and each time she would turn things around we would tag her with "Bendemolena" for the rest of the night. When the older kids come home we will read this book and "Ding Dong Bing Bong" at least once. I just bought two copies of this book to put in the stockings of my two oldest. It is a wonderfully funny story!

This is a great hilarious story for kids of all ages, but especially well suited to silly kiddos! Book came quickly and well packaged. It was used, it’s out of print, but the description of the quality was accurate. Thank you!

I can still hear my two-year old child (now 28) laughing so hard when we read this. Still one of her favorite books from her childhood so it was a must I find as I promised we still have somewhere in our home. OopsShe will know for sure this is not hers since the condition of the one I just purchased is too good. Love it! Oh I will confess, but I won't tell her how little I paid.

My favorite book as a child, and I'm excited to share it with my daughter! Came in in slightly rough condition though, and that wasn't indicated in the product description. Has stickers on it, and the binding is really worn.

I chose this rating because it was as good as I remembered it to be. When my children were small, I used to get this bookfrom the library and read it to them. (My 26 yr old daughter still remembered the book when I mentioned it to her).I personally wanted the book because it reminds me of myself now. I am now hearing impaired and even with my hearing aidsin, I mix up what I've been told at times. The book was in very good condition and now I can read it to my grandchildren. I wasglad that I was able to find it available to buy.Doris
