Well-made Quality Heater

I have had one of these for 2 season and it works great. I just bought another one to supplement the first in our new larger boat. I like the redundancy built into each unit. The lighted plug helps ensure you know you have power and didn't forget to turn a circuit on. Highly recommend.

One of the best Bilge Heaters on Amazon!

I purchased this marine bilge heater because it has two thermostats, two fans, two heating modules, two power supplies all built in the one unit so if one fails the other backup system turns on. It turns on when the bilge reaches 40 degrees and will cycle on and off to keep your bilge at a steady temperature. It has a 25 foot heavy duty cord with a light in the plug that lets you know it's connected. I talked to the owner of this company last week and he said all the units are hand made in the US and have a 2 year warranty. US Coast Guard Certified. I have this Twin Hornet Heater in my 42 Sea Ray Sundancer on Lake Texoma near Dallas, TX

Quality Built Product

This heater is made of high quality components and should last a long time.I like the redundant feature to ensure that it always works if one element feature.I tested it like they suggested and it worked as it should.Pretty expensive item. I wish the price was a bit lower, but with the higher price you get great quality.

Works Flawlessly

What a wonderful heater. Works great!! Keeps the engine compartment between 45 and 50 (at the times I have checked the temps) in a pole barn that is unheated with the outside (and inside the barn) temps below 28. I use a BBQ probe that is hanging in the engine compartment to see what the temp is. I did as they suggest and taped up the vents and tossed a couple packing blankets over the engine hatch to cover any gaps. I am confident it will work for many years to come. Thanks for building a Great American Made Product.

pulls more than 700 watts

i bought this unit because of its claimed sub-1000 watt running load...the inrush it just over 1500 watts (which is fine)BUT after running for a few minutes it pulls just over 1000 watts!may not matter to some, but in my case, this is a deal-breaker.it also has yet to turn on, on its own - i've measured down to 37f right next to the unit overnight, and it just doesn't activate.ive also cycled it a number of times manually using freezer spray(very small amount) - just in case the mechanical temp contacts needed to be 'broken in' - but still refuses to turn on at the stated 40Fnice unit though, seems to be quality built!**update**after cycling the temp contacts some more (10-15 times with freeze spray), the unit is turning on and off now on its own when the temp threshold is reached!

Boat heater

I’ve bought 4 of these now. I have them in my boat, two jet skis and I use it for my well. Love them

Its a little dynamo

I've had this in my boat bilge area for about two weeks now and so far it works very well. Seems to turn on somewhere around 36 degrees and turns off around 40 degrees. It really throws out the heat. Seems to be a first class product and is US Coast Guard approved. Perfect for quick freezes where you can't or don't want to winterize your boat yet.The only danger I see is if you lose power then you could be in trouble. I've seen some discussions where folks are putting a wifi thermostat in their bilge area and get notified if it gets down to a set alarm point. You could always hook up a small generator to it if you lose power but you would have to be home or set up some sort of automatic generator takeover.
