Sauder Carson Forge Sofa Table, Washington Cherry finish

Absolutely love the table. It is the perfect size and the quality for "ready to assemble" furniture is very good. As far as the assembly goes, I would give it a difficulty number of 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being very difficult). My husband and I have assembled furniture before, so we are not "novices" at it, but some parts of the build was challenging. Some of the pieces were not labeled, so we had to guess at which piece we should use next. The instructions were confusing at times and on a couple of occasions, we literally turned the booklet upside down to get the correct view. It took us about 1 hr 45 min. to assemble the table. But as I said earlier, we love the piece. It looks just like it is represented in the picture. The box it came in was damaged but the table itself was fine except for a small nick in one of the legs. Not bad enough to return the table, and the damage was covered up with a furniture pen. If you purchased this table in a furniture store you would pay a lot more, but I doubt that it would look any better.

...so the RIGHT END (Item 'A' has incorrect hole placement, bring the complete assembly to an abrupt halt! SAUDER has a "Replace Furniture Parts" link that made it convenient to order a new part. I received an email stating it would be 5 to 7 business days to receive the new part. Unfortunately, I can only give a ONE STAR rating for this mistake. Obviously, their quality control failed during this inspection, if inspected at all! The packaging was good and there were no other damaged or missing parts. When I complete the assembly, I will change the rating accordingly...UPDATE: 9/13 - Completed the assembly today, the only part that took some alignment care was the top; it took some "man handling" to get it right, but all n' all a pretty straight forward assembly. It you are doing this type of assembly for the first time, there are a couple of challenges; just read and follow the instructions explicitly.Everything went together perfectly and the overall look does not appear to be a box assembly; it appears to be a nice piece of furniture, very please with the outcome... So I rate it this way: 1 STAR for having a bad piece, delaying the assembly. ...but 5 STARS for finial assembly! and

[Austin, TX. June 2014] As everyone else has said; it arrived damaged. The table top had a hole punched into it.I called Sauder immediately and was amazed; as the small things matter:1. English speaking rep with real name ;)2. Great personality and was very kind helpful and apologetic.3. Without proof of damage she immediately took the part number and UPS'd out a replacement part. ALso took my input for proper packaging as I'm an expert on everything LOL. and said she was going to play back the recording to the mgmt.4. Within a couple of days part arrive and a happy ending.Now this table is not a IKEA easy to put together piece. You need tools, you need experience and common sense to be able to see where parts go and how to plan ahead. I used more glue than came with the table, because I wanted it to be sold and last forever when all done. YOU do not have to use as much glue as I used.The veneer is gorgeous as I've never seen anything like this before it look too real and matches my furniture perfectly and I lucked out.I took my time assembling it as not all parts and labeled clearly, but the next days after the glue dried I have a solid looking console table.

As far as looks go, the above table is indeed quite lovely. I would rate it a five on appearance. It is heavy, weighs near 90 pounds, and it mostly composite materials with some sort of wood grain finish. The assembly was more difficult for me than others evidently. The first instruction in the 17 page instruction booklet began, "Remover the 32.....", anytime my first step of many is to get 32 parts out of the bag, I know it is going to be a bad day. If over tightened the connectors would break the composite material or particle board of the desk. Fortunately, it only happened a couple of times in areas it ended up not showing, and I learned my lesson. The drawers also were troublesome to me, but they finally worked on one side only? Identical construction, but one wold work on the right and one on the left only. Two and a half stars for ease of assembly.An attractive desk, fairly sturdy and stable, and an excellent accent to my living room as it sits behind the sofa. Just be prepared to take your time and have a buddy present for assembly.

Table looks really good assembled. Drawers were a bit tricky to get the tracks on right, and I initially built the end pieces with the legs backwards even though this is about the fifth Carson Forge piece I've assembled. I discovered this while placing the bottom shelf onto the leg end-pieces...mmm... the pins don't line up right...wonder why that is? oh..craaap!, that's why! Mis-assembly! Thought I studied the directions pretty good, oh well. I had the sides pieces on the wrong sides and had to change them out.And yes the dowels are somewhat difficult to remove once glued in, as luckily I didn't leave the project to go do something else before the glue cured. While many other items have been delivered unscathed, this one had some minor surface damage here and there most likely from shipping...just used a touch-up pen in dark walnut to remedy, and the few scratches were mostly covered by other material once built.Slight misalignment for the table top cam pins though; best to loosen some of the others to get it to set right on the dowels and the cam-lock pins

Too many parts to assemble. Very heavy on delivery. Good looking.

Really happy with this sofa table. Assembly was easy although we are short one drawer screw. Packaged well to avoid damage during shipping. Looks great.
