There was not much in-depth description about the item. So I decided to order it and see for myself. And I am really delighted !The green scarab "stone" is made of resin. It is a pleasant green color. The scarab body is semi-transparent. And the scarab statue is double-sided. The wings are about 6" inches across and the total height of the piece is 4 1/2 " The colors are nice and bright. The overall effect of the piece is lovely. Any fan of ancient Egypt would really like this item. My real reason for the purchase is that I always greatly admired King Tut's jeweled pectoral necklaces. This scarab design is featured in one of his most famous necklace designs. I had read (somewhere) that the original gemstone for King Tut's pendant is actually Libyan desert glass. Which is a soft yellow color. Sometimes it photographed with a tinge of green in it.So if anyone out there wants to correct me--that is okay. So, yes, for me---this beautiful item is a keeper.

Overall a very nice piece of art. However, the colors are not well-represented in the photos. In real life, they are darker, so the reds have more of a light maroon hue to them and the greens aren’t as verdant. Also the center body of the scarab is translucent and turns a brighter green color when light shines through it, which is actually a very cool touch and a very pleasant surprise. It goes very well in my window. Overall I like it a lot, but the colors don’t “pop” in quite the same way as the photos.

Really nicely-done, with amazing detail. the outer wings of the scarab are black with green and red highlights. the best part is the scarab itself which is made of a translucent green material. it will "shine" in sunlight or when placed next to a light source. Design appears to be authentic, i.e. replicated from an actual hieroglyph. Feels like it should weigh more than it does, but then, there is no metal or stone used in this. That doesn't matter, because it's absolutely beautiful.

Gorgeous statue, i am very pleased with the quality of the craftmanship. The colors have been delicately and precisely painted on. The green stone in the middle is not as clear or vibrant as the picture, but does not really matter overall. It is a great addition to my egyptian collection of statues

Absolutely beautiful , somehow amazon messed up the delivery and lot of issues around it. but the product itself is very very good.
