CLELO Small Mini Backpack Cute Little Backpack for Women

I bought this to replace a very old mini backpack that I'd been using for years. It had exactly what I was looking for - neutral color, small size but not too small - and when it arrived I was not disappointed. It feels sturdy and well made, with strong, thick zippers and lots of pockets. I like that the pocket on the front has snaps, because sometimes you just want to swing it off your shoulder and grab something quickly without fiddling with ties and zippers. I wanted the equivalent of a purse, but with a hands-free option, good for nature walks, trips to amusement parks, etc.and this fit the bill exactly. I'm also very short and didn't want something that would be heavy and looked oversized on me. For such a small backpack, the makers must have envisioned giants using it, because I had to jack up the straps at least 12 inches (as high as they would go, right up to the top hand strap) in order for it to fit me properly. I see other reviewers have commented on this as well. Yes, the zipper is in the way, but I was easily able to push the buckles past it. Also, the straps attach and detach with a ring and clasp, so they can be adjusted for one strap or two using the three rings on the bottom. You can use the middle ring even in "backpack mode" though, and it will have the effect of shortening the straps even more and will place the backpack higher on your back if you want that option. So, very versatile.

The media could not be loaded.  I was searching for a light travel bag or just an alternative to purses. This little backpack was smaller than I anticipated, but boy can it hold a lot!!! There are several different compartments, enough for just about anything. I love that the back side has a compartment for any valuables/personals that are not so easily accessible. I recently used this on a vacation and was able to fit my iPad, sunglasses, wallet, gum, selfie-stick and so much more. I am 5'7' and the backpack sits just right on my back. The material feel sturdy and I love the overall look of the backpack...great purchase!

I love this bag so much that I recently bought a second one after one of the strap clips broke on the original. The first one lasted 2 yrs, 9 months, and I used the bag daily, so I was very happy with how long it lasted, especially considering the price. The size of the bag is perfect for someone who walks and rides the bus everywhere. I can carry everything I would have in a regular purse, plus throw in my iPad, 3 cans of pop, a pair of eyeglasses and a pair of sunglasses (each in a case), a hairbrush, and several other odds and ends. While it's obviously bigger than the average purse, it doesn't look or feel big or bulky. I usually keep the straps zipped together and carry it over my shoulder, and at first I thought the straps would be too long to wear comfortably as a backpack. But I discovered that if I unzipped the straps and, instead of clipping each strap to each of the rings on the bottom corners on the back, clip both straps to the one ring at the bottom/center of the back (where you would clip them when you wear it as a sling) it shortened the straps up to a perfect length for me when wearing as a backpack (I'm 5'2"). I'm actually glad that the straps are as long as they are because, if I hook up the straps like you're supposed to when wearing as a backpack, it fits perfectly over my thick winter parka. I machine-washed and dried the bag along with some towels, and it came out very well. The color did fade, although I believe that was mostly from all the time I walked with it in the sun. I actually liked the color better after it had faded, although I’m not sure how good the black one would look (mine’s brown). The only bad thing I’ve found with the bag is that both the old and the new one had strings come loose. But there was no fraying, and none of the stitching actually came undone, so I just cut the strings off and had no other problems.

I can't get over how cute this mini backpack is! I ordered it to use a purse when traveling, as my current travel purse is a bottomless pit. Family members constantly ask me to carry their sunglasses, chapstick, comb, small change purse, etc and in they go... only to make me have to empty the whole thing just to find the stuff again. This little backpack has many different pockets– besides the main compartment which has a small zippered pocket as well as a cellphone pocket, there is a middle zippered compartment and a smaller front compartment that closes with 2 magnetic snaps. On the back, there is another flat zippered pocket. The size is just right to use as a purse! It is very well made of a sturdy and somewhat soft canvas and the back portion is cushioned so it can protect an iPad in the large compartment. The shoulder straps can be zipped together to make one wider strap that can be clipped to a ring on the bottom center of the backpack and used as a sling pack. Unzipped the straps can be clipped to the sides of the bottom. Overall, this is a very nice quality backpack.

This really is a great little bag. My only complaint is the color is not what I expected at all. I ordered the brown, and it is more like a Carhart brown than the lighter color shown on my computer screen. But, the bag is well designed and seems solidly built. The straps are very versatile and comfortable. After unzipping the strap zipper, I was able to pull the buckles up all the way to the top of the backpack to make the straps short enough for me. The bottom of the straps have clips so they can be attached to the sides or center of the backpack. The zipper pocket on the back extends to the bottom of the bag. I can put a 8 1/2 x 11 paper folded in thirds in there and zip it closed. The magnets on the front pocket close securely, but are not so strong that you struggle to open them. The zipper pulls have a nice detail. It is a very good deal for the price, and I think it is suitable for a male or female. I just don't know if I can live with the color.
