Nice Ideas
The book contains attractive ideas that are useful for lunches of all ages. They range from simple to complex, but there ARE ideas for everyone in every household regardless of dieting preferences. The authors thought of everything and presented the meals nicely! The photos are so nice to browse through. Each lunch idea is shown in a full color photograph, which is ideal. I don’t feel it’s targeted towards children - this book is for anyone desiring variety with their lunch.

Solid idea book for bento lunch packers, LunchBots container centric.
I've been packing bento-style lunch boxes for my 4 and 6 year old kids for 5 years, and sometimes for myself as well. I bought this book looking to freshen up my lunch ideas for this school year. While I don't think my kids will eat everything in the book, I got plenty of new ideas I'm looking forward to adding in to our rotation. Overall, I think this is a solid book for bento lunch packers.Pros:- No fussy cute lunches. These lunches are presented in the way I would really pack a bento-style lunch for my kids - attractive, diverse, and organized, but nothing cut into flower shapes or made into food dioramas. There are a couple of fun ideas for special holiday lunches, but even those are very easily executable.- If you already use LunchBots containers, the ideas in this book fit right in, especially if you use the Cinco or the Trio. If you use another brand of bento container, these recipes are still adaptable to other shapes. We use a YumBox pretty often and I don't forsee any problems adapting to any of our containers.- Ideas for sandwich/wrap-style lunches, salad-style lunches, and snack-style lunches - there's something here for all kinds of eaters.- There's a nice planner in the back you can photocopy if you're someone who likes to plot out your lunches in advance. My lunches are always faster to pack when I take the time to do this (although I admit I usually don't).Cons:- There are more/larger portions of desserts or snacky items shown than I would typically pack for my younger kids. I do pack treats, but one cookie or a single square of chocolate, rather than a whole compartment filled with treats. I list this as a con because I think treats are usually pretty easy to pack. I need more help developing my ideas for proteins and vegetables that will appeal to my kids. - Written by the makers of LunchBots so obviously very LunchBots product centric. This doesn't bother me a bit - LunchBots makes a really great product, and I find it easier to pack a lunch when I'm using the same container style repeatedly rather than a bunch of different styles of containers - but I could see that it might bother some.

Well written and very helpful!
I bought this for my daughter. My granddaughter is 2 1/2 and goes to daycare. Making original and healthy lunches each day have been a challenge. My daughter feels this book has been very helpful.

Fun and simple to use!
I am so glad I purchased this book! I am a stay at home mom with two young children and while they are not yet in school, I still felt that we were in a lunch rut and could use some new ideas so I purchased this book to help! The fact that the ideas are simple is what helped me decide on this book when considering it compared to others. I have bought books in the past to help me come up with new meal ideas for my children and I rarely use them because the recipes can be complicated and require ingredients I don’t normally keep on hand. But this book is so easy to use! It is really just page after page of beautiful pictures with a list of what’s shown. No recipes to follow (though there is one idea for a pasta salad that I wish had included what type of dressing was used), it is organized well, and my somewhat picky three year old loves to look through and pick out new things he’d like to try. There are a few ideas that are a little less healthy than I typically go for but there are plenty of healthy ideas as well! I’m also excited to be able to use this book when my children begin school and I need to pack their lunches! Overall, I am very pleased with this book and would recommend to other busy parents who need some simple, fresh ideas for lunches!

A Must Have for Lunchbox Prep!
I rarely write reviews anymore but felt this book absolutely deserved a 5 star review! My daughter is a med school student and was looking for simple and easy lunchbox prep ideas so she can plan out on the go bento box style lunches each week. We ordered several books and this one far exceeds the others in ideas, layout, and visual appeal! Gorgeous, practical, and full of great lunchbox prep ideas! Definitely useful for all ages… not just parents of school aged kids!

Such a Great Idea for Ideas!!
I have often struggled with decision fatigue when it comes to meal planning and prep. I know the recipes, but can't figure out which ones to put together, what will be quick enough in the morning, etc. In steps The Simple Lunchbox!! It was beautiful online, and even more gorgeous in person. Each page is simply a photo of a completed lunchbox with a little blurb about its inspiration and a quick list of what went into it. No recipes, just the essentials!! We've had the book for a week and already tried several of the ideas, with easy results and happy kids each time. Also a favorite for this mom--most of the pages show whole-food ideas, which meant my kids were picking out whole foods for their lunches!!Pros:Easy to find new ideasBeautiful photosKids can flip through and help choose--even if they are non-readersAll meals and snacks are quick-prep itemsSo many whole-food choices picturedCons:No recipes--there is a QR code on each page. It would be neat if those codes someday linked to a recipe for the page.
