Solar Powered Gargoyle Outdoor LED Garden Light Decor

I wanted a couple grotesques for my garden (gargoyles have downspouts for water, grotesques don't). I read the reviews and thought I'd order one and see if it had the problems mentioned. I received it and it worked fine straight out of the box.So I ordered a second one. When I received it, I turned the switch on. It lit up. After a few moments the lights went out. I tried again with the same results. I thought "well at least he's cute" and set them both outside. The next night, both were lit up just fine. Seems if the charge isn't there, the lights will go out after a few seconds. You just have to make sure they get charged up in the sun.Overall, I really like them. They are small, but I grabbed a couple thick rounds of a tree we were cutting down and set the grotesques on those at either end of the flower bed. It gives them enough height to have a presence.Because the solar panel is at the back of the head, you want to position him carefully to catch the sun. He didn't do well sitting on my porch because it doesn't get enough sun at the right angle. Sitting in the flowerbed on the stumps, he gets sun all afternoon and that's enough.Even without the light up eyes, he is very cute and a nice addition.

I bought this on impulse, after hearing about a gargoyle while listening to one of Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" audiobooks. BTW, there are over 30 of these gems available on fulllengthaudiobook.com, which I find immensely entertaining, full of offbeat humor, and wisely irreverent in their attitude toward religious superstitions. Anyway, just look at the picture: who wouldn't love that face!

Cute little guy I put on my front steps. Solar charges during the day. The LED eyes are bright and the thing looks pretty cool. However the charge doesn't last long and the eyes will go out in an hour or two. It's survived high winds, pouring rain, and freezing temps so far. Especially impressed that the wind didn't take it for a ride. It's not heavy but didn't budge in the gusts.I'm thinking of getting a second. This would also be excellent decoration for a flower bed or garden.

These are adorable. I actually have them sitting on my front steps. During the day they look so cute but come night time when their eyes come of you wonder what mischief they are getting up to while you are sleeping.

This is my second one......first one lasted over 2 years outdoors. Super cute and lights work great.

Very cute but the on/off switch is spongy and doesn't stay on. I should have read more reviews. Too difficult to return things if printer isn't working, have to make an hour round trip to a return center so I guess it's mine now. Sad because I bought it for a grave.
