Q: What are the outside measurements and total weights of the different sizes?

Do not know about all sizes. Mine is approximately 7x5x4 . The weight depends on how many "heaters" you take. Empty weighs 12.6 oz and heaters are 2oz each. This is good flameless cooking method but the heaters make a bit impractical for too long a trip. I stow mine with 6 heaters inside and use only when necessary. ie, can not build fire.

I don't believe there is a cookbook available other than instructions on the packets.

Q: Can you cook a thawed out hamburger in this?

Yes you can. But you need to use more than one packet to do it. I used Barocook for every meal for a week after a hurricane. I boiled water, cooked raw food, etc. Two of the large heater packs does it. I've also taken rock hard frozen food and cooked. You need some liquid to help transfer the heat.

Q: Does this process produce an odor or smell -- aside from the food being cooked? (like a toxic chemical emission?)

I didn’t notice an odor or smell when my daughter and I used it. It didn’t set off my air purifier’s alarm or my carbon monoxide detector.
