TL;DR: Timbs are great. Buy them.
I've resisted buying Timberland boots for years. I have a disability; it's impossible or difficult for me to wear most boots, and I was 99.99% sure these wouldn't be any different. When my old rainboots bit the dust, I caved and bought these hoping they might fit the bill for waterproof boots. I've been on the hunt for "stompy" boots for almost five years, and everything I found was impossible to wear. A friend assured me these weren't heavy boots and I should be able to wear them. Well okay, but probably not. I chose the Nellie boots because I figured the ankle boot would be easier to pull on, and I liked how they looked with skinny jeans.I prepared myself to sadly print another return label and cry over my stupid feet, but wow, was I wrong. Now I understand why people wear these; they're comfortable and easy to pull on, durable, waterproof, and go with just about any outfit I could put together. These boots aren't heavy at all, and I have no trouble lifting my feet even with my terrible ankles. The tongue is attached to the inside of the shoe for waterproof-ness, but the top of the boot opens with plenty of space for even my inflexible feet. The shoes didn't come laced all the way up; I relaced them all the way because I thought they were a bit floppy at first, but with tight laces they fit fine. The tongue of the shoe does rub on your ankle. I wish there had been more padding behind the tongue to prevent this. Go for the regular boot style if you're planning on wearing these sans socks. The good news is that a thick sock works fine to protect your ankle. I also wish the laces were longer. I know I laced mine through every hole and that's not the "cool" thing to do; the laces seem to anticipate you'll lace them through every other hole, and they actually come in-box like that. Whatever. I prefer not tripping over myself. You know what isn't fashionable? The hospital bill I'd be paying after I ate pavement. Some reviewers said to size down, but I bought my normal 6.5 size and didn't have any issues. I have plenty of space for thick socks when it's cold, but they still fit if I wear normal weight socks.Buy these suckers. They're comfy, lightweight, and basically indestructible. Plus you'll look fly, or whatever the kids say these days.

This was a SPITE purchase
Yes, I bought these for spite. Our First Lady wore these boots to a combat zone and was mocked for it. These boots, are similar to combat boots. I know because I was deployed for 8 years to a combat zone. Also, these boots are made in America. So I was very happy the media made a joke out of our FLOTUS as it reminded me that these are very very good boots! I love them!

Great Product and Good Customer Service
I've ordered this product twice and returned the first pair. The shoes FIT AS EXPECTED. I've read online that Timerland's run large, but when I bought a pair half a size smaller than my normal size, the shoes were too small. (Also if you have slightly wide feet, I suggest buying a wide pair) However, I was able to return it easily. The two venders I communicated with had GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Both pairs ARRIVED EARLY, which is always a plus. When you first try on your shoes, they'll feel a little tight, but after you become accustomed to them and they become accustomed to you, they're SNUG and QUITE COMFORTABLE. They also KEEPI highly recommend this product. It compliments all of my outfits and I'm expecting to wear them everyday in the winter and spring!

Used for a year and still love them
I've had these boots for about a year now and have used them regularly in very cold winters, walking through snow and puddles and even during the fall. I absolutely love these boots and if mine ever die, I'm pretty sure I'd buy them again. They're comfortable, don't bite the back of my feet, they're definitely waterproof (unlike the many kinds of fake versions out there), and the color is beautiful. The only 2 reasons for 4 stars instead of 5 are:- The laces have begun to wear around the point where you pull on them to tighten, near the closest loop. I wish they were just as great as the boots or were easy to find if I wanted extra laces around.- While I believe they're worth their price, I do think that for the money, Timberland could not only add a spare pair of laces to the order and the box, but could also include a shoe cleaning kit or a pamphlet at the VERY least. Leather shoes that look so beautiful are not the kind I'd want to take a chance on while figuring out what products to use when cleaning stains or scuff marks. So I'd have appreciated a starter cleaning kit.Otherwise, great and true to size.

small laces, shoe is not secure enough
I have mixed feelings about these shoes. I have been searching high and low for black boots that are heavy duty enough for working in an assembly plant but not higher than ankle.Appearance wise they look great, solid black everywhere, smooth soft feeling of like suede/leather? Not sure but it's beautiful. Easy to clean. However, my pair did not come with the timberland hangtag on the side, and the shoe laces are incredibly short. You would be lucky to get one bow tie done, cannot do a double knot. Also, these shoes are impossible to lazyman and just slip on. You will have to sit down every morning to untie the shoes, put them on with slight difficulty, and then retie.but the worst thing about these shoes is no matter how tight you tie your tiny laces, they will feel like flip flops. You know how the heel portion in the flip flop isnt always attached to your heel so it kinda slaps back and makes the flip flop sound? Well you get no sound here but you do get the slap so its almost as if, the shoe isnt tight enough around the top so your foot isnt totally secured. I will find different laces and hope it works

Timberland you ROCK!
Timberland you ROCK!I lived in these boots/ shoes during a trip to NYC and a snowy upstate hiking trip. They fit my foot well and were very comportable for long walks and standing. My foot stayed dry and warm in the city and the country. I went a half size up like I usually do with boots. They were snug with med weight wool socks . Super thick socks might not work if your foot is on the fuller side. I wish I could wear these everyday. My doctor said a stiff shoe would be best for the cronic foot pain I have and these shoes are perfect. I'd love to find them in other colors with decorative patterns. They clean up well also.

First time user - I loved them!
I ordered my timbs on 19/12/18 using prime and arrived two days later. Genuine timberlands for a good price! I was very hesitant about whether to order them or not since they were the cheapest i found compared to the original website. Came in a timberland shoe box, perfectly packaged with its reference code (i used to check it up to be sure it is real). Felt quite heavy when i first held it... i tried it on and felt quite heavy on my feet. When you start using them, expect the top of the tongue of the shoe to be rubbing against the skin, unless you are wearing thick socks. The heel bit felt quite uncomfortable for a few days. It is now 07/01/19 and they have adjusted to my feet, very comfortable and my feet are very warm when i wear them. They don't feel as heavy as before and the tongue stopped rubbing. I use it mainly for dog walking and obviously when it's cold. Hope this helps!

These boots were described as wide but not English wide.
The package was ripped on the corner to expose 8W, which spooked me as I ordered a 6.5 that was described as wide fit. However, that was probably the American size as they came in UK 6.5. The length was fine. However, there were three issues that led me to return the boots. 1. They were shallow especially as they had been described as wide. I assume a wider foot is also deeper than normal, and I wear think silicone insoles, but boots do need socks generally anyway. The sides (with the lace holes that do the boot up) were so short that they did not come up over the top of the foot very far at all. Seemed really skimped. Nothing like my Caterpillar boots and my Doc Martens both of which have generous flaps that easily allow you to pull on the laces and be snug. The laces were so short and also slippery that they looked rather like children's laces and there was no pulling the sides over the top using them as they were too short. They were not big enough to do a good bow, but barely large enough to do a tiny one! I have slim ankles and I need wide boots as my toes are twisted and I have what looks like a bunion but it is not that I have put a fat foot into the boots, just need the width at the toes. The colour was fine, the leather Okay, but just not either comfortable ( the sole seeming to be hard and bumpy to walk on despite the description of anti-fatigue) or generous to feel that you could use them for a good walk. I only walked on them for moments on carpet though. My opinion, but an honest one!. No bother to send back immediately and to get an almost instant refund. Sorry!

Safe in snow
Sorry about this. The boots were of the utmost comfort. No problems with fit or feel. However!!! In sleet/snow/ice/black ice or on wet tiled shop floors. I almost went full length. I also own a dog. And in recent weeks there has been a good fall of snow and sleet. Both of which froze!! When taking the dog for a walk, You may as well wear a pair of skies. Absolute crap!! I was unable to wear them when I needed them the most. Because of a fear of going full length and hurting myself. The dog just pulled me along like i was on skies!!!!

Zombie apocalypse survival kit
Usually between a 7 and an 8 so 7uk fitted perfectly. Very comfortable and keeps feet warm in winter. Use them for everyday walking and if we are going hillwalking, adventures. Possibly zombie apocalypse when it comes.
