Small Business Software
I have used Peachtree, which later changed its name to Sage for years for my accounting. Since my old version was from 2013, I jumped at the chance of using the new version. I previously used the pro version, and this one is called the premium version. I recommend looking very carefully at the features that come in premium to determine if they are necessary to you, as there is quite a price difference between the versions. One of the features is departmental reporting, something I am definitely going to use. I think that set up will require the assistance of someone familiar with accounting, if you personally are not. But once the accounts and parameters are set up, it's easy for a user to learn how to pay invoices, record receipts, etc. I find the software easy to use, though I do have an accounting background. There is also some confusion about having to pay extra and giving a credit card number to Sage just to use this product which has been purchased. That is NOT true. If you buy the software, it's yours forever. After the initial support year is up, though, you will have to pay for updates and support. I have successfully used my 2013 version up until now with no issues or problems. I do think this version of the software is pricey, but it's a good, solid accounting system and I'd recommend it to handle all required facets of small business accounting.

Well..
The price of this disk is outrageous. It is handy and useful to use but first you need to buy the disk at this price then you have to pay for the subscription and it is kind of hard to use and I just don't feel that the average small business can afford it or have a whole lot of use for it. I was initially really excited to get my hands on it but that really faded pretty fast as soon as I tried to use it. It's pretty much worthless for me but someone with a large scale business who can afford to keep paying every year might consider it a better investment than I do. Also, I was not able to access the one year of support that it clearly states that I should have. I am not happy with this one at all.. 2 stars.*Thank you for taking the time to read my review and if it helped you make an informed decision either way about this product please let me know by taking a quick moment of your time to vote it Helpful so I can keep track of my most helpful reviews. I hope you have a wonderful shopping experience!*

Incremental update and poor support
Ive known about Sage 50 from when it was called Peachtree way back in the day. The software gives incremental improvements from their prior year's iteration and this year is no different. It has a bit of a learning curve to understand the use of the product. The price of this product will definitely draw a lot of people away from wanting to purchase this product. At least know that this version does have a perpetual license. I also use Quicken for my personal finance, and they have moved over to the subscription based after Quicken 2017 so that is definitely not something I am fond of since most yearly products have such small changes that there is no point in buying the new version each year.It is relatively easy to input customer data into the software. Creates invoices as well, as well as other aspects. Support for the software is where the stars are getting taken off immensely. There is such a poor support for this product that it makes the product just average.

This is the Perpetual Version and Not the Subscription Cloud Version. They Are Different.
I really like Sage 50 for the construction industry. I have been using since it was Peachtree accounting many years ago.I think many reviewers here have not fully understood that this purchase at nearly $600 is for a perpetual license. It will install and work just fine for many years and you will not need a subscription to use it. If you purchase the Sage 50 Premium Cloud version it will cost you about $78 per month or $936 per year and if after 20 days of not paying it will go into read only mode. So this is arguable a better deal. This does come with 1 year of business support. During that time you will get product updates and customer support. You will have an opportunity to renew this at the end of the 1 yr period. If you do not renew it you will stop receive updates and upgrades. It can be sort of confusing but this is a good deal to me. I prefer this version rather than the cloud version. I guess the advantage of the cloud version is that the cost is spread out over time, and although higher It also will upgrade you to the next years version and so forth so that you are always current. You will need to register your software so that it will be in the system as supported.

Small business
The Sage corporation, previously known as Peachtree Accounting, has been in business for over 38 years. I like buying products from company's that been around for awhile. I find the software easy to use, though I have used a few accounting software programs before. I feel comfortable with Sage. Manage your businessmonitor and better manage cash flow. Easily keep track of customers’ projects with quotes and proposals. Record all your purchases and expenses – never miss a payment and stay in control of your finances. Sage provides you with the support and resources, giving you peace of mind.
