Fit my old Delta 600 series shower faucet PERFECT

My faucet handle in my kids shower started to get loose over the past year. I kept tightening it until I said enough. So I replaced the entire ball assembly and with a new one. Turns out it was the wrong part. The water was either hot or cold... no in between. Not good for a shower kids use becuase of scalding. I spent several days researching different Delta shower faucets and finally found this part number from Danco. It fit perfectly, and now the mixer valve works get. While I was at it I also changed out the handle to a ball. While most people would not have made this choice I thought it best becuase small hands could grip it easier.Couple tips when installing:- buy some food grade plumbers silicone lubricant. Makes the job go alot easier.- slide the springs and rubber boots onto a screwdriver shaft and then insert the shaft into the holes. You now have a guide to slide both the springs and boots into the hole. Once in, remove the screwdriver and seat them with your fingers. Then apply some lubricant.- When installing the white plastic retaining cup; get it into the correct place (there's a notch to makes sure of that) and then put on the retaining cover. Use needle nose pliers to press the cup back into the springs and then tighten the retaining cover.- Don't tighten the ball tensioner until your completely done. An installation tool makes it alot easier.- Try not to use pliers on anything. All of this can be done by hand with a dry washcloth (your hands will be slippery from the lubricant). Using a wrench can damage the connections in the back of the valve and end up costing you alot of money.Hope this helps someone else.

Good

Works as intended (almost, but that could be user error regarding install).

Good, affordable repair kit

I bought this repair kit to fix a leaky, 30-year old Delta 600 series shower faucet. The parts in the kit are almost identical to the original parts in design. It's a little tight when you try to close all the parts in the shower body and screw on the bonnet nut, but that has more to do with the design of the shower body than it does the replacement kit. It should be noted that this kit comes with two set of springs and rubber seals. One matched my shower, I believe the other is for a sink faucet. Just discard the set you don't need. Overall the kit fit very well and was priced very reasonably.

Saved Me

I was rebuilding my old Delta faucet and dropped the original ball behind the wall like an idiot. Ordered this off of the Big A and the next day the shower was working like new...

Works great

I installed this in my shower and it worked perfectly. It is best to go with the stainless steel ball if you have the option, especially if you have well water and because these parts are susceptible to collecting minerals from hard water. The stainless helps out greatly with this. This kit was about the same price as the plastic ones on the market.

Alright but with some caveats

Update: 1/15/2020. After a few months, one of these started to leak pretty bad from the hot side.I got two of these for two different faucets. One, it is a lot cheaper than the actual Delta replacement. Design-wise, they fit my faucet. This said, a few caveats.1. Of the two, one did not come with (was missing) the springs for a Delta faucet. The springs I had weren't worn out, so I re-used those. I'm sure I could have returned it, but that would have been a hassle. So, a quality control issue. The second one I ordered did have the springs so, again, just a QC issue. It obviously is supposed to have that set of springs.2. As mentioned, it does not come with the Delta Tool to tighten it. This tool is 'needed' to get a final adjustment. I had some pin spanners and that worked fine. Others have said a butter knifes. I'm sure one can finangle other methods and have it work. This said, I'm sure a specific tool would be a little easier but it wasn't a deal breaker for me.3. I got them to work, okay, but it did take more finangling with adjustment and what not than I would have thought. I'm not sure if this would be true with the proper Delta replacement piece...but I did have to mess with tightening it just right to get the spout to not have a little bit of almost barely noticeable leaking (but I am AR that way). So, all in all, I got it to work and was pleased that I could do my two faucets with the Danco kits for the cost of one Delta kit. This said, in the future, I think I'll give the proper Delta parts a try and see if they fit a little better and get that tool. It is obvious that overhauling these faucets isn't that hard and far, far cheaper than replacing the faucet.

need a copper pipe to push in ball valve while securing ring

product worked, however need two people to install...one with quite a bit of strength to push the ball with lever in. we used a copper pipe to assist with pushing in and keeping ring in place.
