1,000 Ideas for Decorating Cupcakes, Cookies & Cakes

Purchased this for a baker friend of mine. What a beautiful book! The images are beautiful, clear and colorful. If you're creative and like to decorate this book has great ideas BUT it does not have instructions on how to make the decorations. Just a picture book. She loved it!

I read the reviews before buying so I knew what to expect. Great photo book full of great ideas and lots of inspiration. One of my favorite things about the photos are that they come from around the world, so it's really interesting to see cake, cookies and cupcakes from other countries such as Mexico, Australia, Italy, South Africa and so on. There were just a few photos that made me think "wow.. how did that make it in".. but all in all - really beautiful work.In the back of the book is an image directory listed by number (each image has a number) that will tell you briefly what the item is made from. For example: "0683 Blue Fish: hand-painted rolled fondant" or "0692 Paisley Party Cake: fondant, piped royal icing, airbrush". There's not a how-to for any of them, however, in the contributor directory, there are website links, by company, that lists all the image numbers contributed by that baker/individual.I would recommend it if you're looking for some creative inspiration.

This book was just what I was looking for. Sometimes, you just need a creative nudge to be inspired in the kitchen. This compilation does it for me. Although there are some basic icing recipes in the back for reference, it is simply pictures of decorated cakes, cupcakes and cookies. Nearly 300 pages of full color photographs. I purchased the paperback version. The paper is not high quality, but the price was right. The styles are somewhat dated throughout the book, but nothing a practiced baker cannot modernize. Most all techniques are represented and vary from simplistic to highly skilled. Chapters include ideas for elegant, holiday, baby, children, and bridal decorations. There is no instruction or material list available for the pictured bakery goods. The book is all about inspiration. How you personalize your goodies is up to you!

This book includes some of the most beautiful and prettiest decorating ideas that I have seen. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who is looking for extremely detailed step by step instructions and/or beginners. But if you are already a bit experienced and know the basics this book is a dream and filled with an abundance of ideas for any occasion. The included recipes are great as well, tasty and they insure a good looking result due to perfect texture (frosting etc). I would say that this one book will have you covered on the creative side for years.

BEWARE this is a book of nothing but pictures! I bought this under the impression that i was ideas for decorating and was completely scammed. It is not worth the money and wish i could get a refund. It looks so appealing on the pictures but then oh wait there is absolutely. No instructions on how to make the beautiful things they are displaying only a big book of advertising of where you can PURCHASE these cupcakes, cookies and cakes from. Had i known it was just a giant advertisement i would have spent my money on something else, that actually shows how to make such wonderful treats like i was wanting. I feel like i've been robbed of my hard earned money.

This was an interesting journey that surprised me in that, thinking that there might be some tutorials to go along with the photo's, this is instead literally 1000 photographs of cakes and cookies and cupcakes.Within the covers of this paperback book are full-page or half-page or quarter-page photographs of cookies, cakes, and cupcakes that will definitely inspire. Under each photo is the name of the person that created the baked delight. Though some of these credits will be just the names of the decorators, some will have the accompanying website that you can access for further idea's. If you do go to the websites offered, there you will find more photo's along with some beautiful tutorials and/or instruction as well as more information on the decorator. So with a little extra effort, your journey will take you to many parts of the world to learn more on the photo's that piqued your interest. You will have to be more of a detective with this book in that you need to check out the websites offered, which may or may not include specifics, but which will put you in contact with the artists. For those with advanced skills, perhaps you would like to look at other authors/books. Peace.

Non è un libro con tutorial o spegazioni. Si tratta di una raccolta di foto divise per tema. Ottimo per chi ha bisogno di uno spunto per qualche torta particolare. In oltre ci sonole foto delle creazioni mia cara amica Toni!!

Einfach nur wahnsinnig viele Bilder - keine Rezeptbuch oder Schritt für Schritt Erklärungen - aber eine riesige Fülle an Inspiration zur Dekoration. Das ist ein reines Bilderbuch mit ein paar wenigen Basicrezepten. Aber die Bilder sind eine wahnsinnig riesiges Inspirationsquelle, was alles möglich ist und welche farben man verwenden kann (Alle!) und welche unterschiedlichen Formen und größen es gibt. Bei manchen Bildern wünsche ich mir, dass ich das Original vor mir habe, da sind richtig viele kleine Meisterwerke drin, die es sich lohnt nachzuahmen...

Sólo salen las fotografías de las galletas, tartas y cakes ya decoradas, al final del libro hay 3 o 4 recetas básicas que se han utilizado para la decoración (en ingles), pero no dice nada de las técnicas ni pasos a seguir para la decoración. Es un libro que aporta ideas muy bonitas. Yo me lo volvería a comprar...
