If the DJ Controller has RCA connector at output, and the recorder has a stereo TRS input, yes. You would also need to take into account the signal level from the Controller to the recorder, which simply means that you would need to ramp up your signal output slowly, so you do not get clipping at the recorder

Why is it red and blue, not red and white?

its just their color design, connect red for red and blue for white.

If i connect the 2 rca cables into the rca out in my amp then connect the 6.3 to the mixer would that work to pass audio to mixer?

As long as you have match connection at both ends of cable it is ok..

For the 10" model, what is the distance from the y split to each of the rca ends? (trying to determine how far apart my monitors/speakers could be)

I'm thinking you need more than 10 inches if you are hooking into speakers.
