I live in Montana will this keep my tank from freezing when in use I can't seem to find anything about that

I live at 7,000 ft in CO and my tank "lives" outside. I never had an issue with the tank freezing. The cover is waterproof.

Will this help protect from heat from storing in bed of truck when camping?

I'm Sure it will provide a small measure of protection from the sun. (if I understand your question correctly) But only when storing or transporting. I would not recommend using the tank while it is on the truck bed just for safety reasons.
