This is our second crib, and the exact one we bought the first time. The first crib we got, had some damage to the backboard, I ended up actually having to go to home depot and finding some wood repair putty and paint to fill in the nick. I blame that issue on the shipper. Only advice would be careful and expect some small damage from shipping as the box its shipped in isn't meant to take a beating. Although you can probably ship it back for a replacement, it was way more hassle to do that, then for me to learn how to repair the wood :)The 2nd crib we got was in perfect condition after being shipped. That was good news. Overall this crib is excellent. No other issues so far. We do not use any bumpers or have anything in the crib besides basic bedding. Our toddler still sleeps in the crib and we purchased all the add-ons to convert this crib to a toddler bed later on (still in crib mode). Since we don't have bumpers, he does toss and turn at night and we hear thuds occasionally as he hits the sides, but the crib holds up just fine.The only questionable thing is the backboard tends to bend as our son hits the back of the crib. It hasn't caused any damage or broken the crib, but you can see some outline edges that are not painted because the board has separated slightly from the back wood frame.

Great buy! I was so worried that it wouldn't be a good crib. I purchased if for my grandson. It was delivered as scheduled. Package had one small tear in the box but nothing was damaged inside. The crib wasn't difficult to assemble. My son took it home and put it together by himself. The only tricky part was getting the spring seated. He could have used a second hand with that part but he was able to get it together. The bed looks great and I am well pleased with it. Very good price and sturdy bed. Love it love it!

Our baby is due in October but I wanted the crib together before the school year. My husband and his best friend put it together in about an hour and a half. I think it would have been annoying to assemble by yourself - but very doable. The cribis sturdy and looks nice. I like the solid back because it's less bars to worry about. At the end of assembling the crib you WILL have extra pieces for the toddler bed and full size bed so plan to put those somewhere that you will remember. Overall, shipping was fast (the box did come very damaged but the product was packaged well for travel) and looks very nice. Happy with purchase.

The Good- looks beautiful, feels sturdy, love the finish! What a deal for a solid back crib!The Less than Good- Box arrived with one end completely open. Fortunately, everything appeared to be still inside it. Small scratch on the back of the main piece... Not a big deal because it will be against the wall. Instructions are confusing (parts aren't labeled to match the instructions, which would have helped a ton). We ended up with a side piece turned the wrong way.Overall, very happy with my purchase :)

Overall the crib is nice. The styling and color are attractive. It was relatively easy to assemble, with one exception. I don't like the support piece for the mattress. First, it is metal springs and the crib we had before was a wood platform. Probably just boils down to personal preference. But attaching the mattress support is a HUGE pain, and absolutely impossible to do without another person. Someone has to hold it in place while you thread two screws (one male, one female) into each other at each corner. It's time consuming and, again, requires a second person. Also, there are these metal arms the flip up (the end of the arms are what you are screwing into the crib) and they make it difficult to get a crib skirt to lay nicely...it just bunches up at the corners and then you just see these big ugly black metal arms hanging there. Very unattractive. My other complaint was the smell - it took more than a week of airing the room out with fans and open windows to get the horrible chemical smell out of my nursery. I wouldn't even let me baby sleep in there that week.If this had been my first crib, I probably would have given it 5 stars because like I said, overall, the crib is of nice quality and looks nice...but because it it replacing the crib I have been using for 7 years and 5 kids I am of course, comparing it to what I know and love. My old Carter's crib is far superior in craftsmanship and ease of use. I wish Carter's still made cribs!

This crib is absolutely beautiful! I was worried about purchasing it because of shipping issues that other customers have had. I decided that it was worth the risk because I could not find a solid back crib for only $200.00 anywhere else. Also this crib is sold and shipped by Amazon. So any shipping issues are not the manufacturers fault. It arrived in perfect condition only a few days after I ordered it.As for the women that was upset that she could not use her expensive bedding with this crib, bumber pads should never be used in infants’ cribs, according to new guidelines released by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). This recommendation, issued as part of an updated and expanded set of guidelines on safe sleep and SIDS prevention for babies, is the first time the AAP has officially come out against the use of crib bumpers. According to the AAP, there is no evidence that bumpers protect against injury, but they do carry a potential risk of suffocation, strangulation, or entrapment because infants lack the motor skills or strength to turn their heads should they roll into something that obstructs their breathing. -Parenting.com
