Helped with HDCP handshake issues
Resolved issues I was having connecting a Cambridge Audio BD player to an Epson wireless projector. Problem was HDCP issue with older version 1.x on BD player not allowing sync to the projector transmitter that has V2.x. This unit when inserted inline removed the HDCP and the two talked to each other correctly allowing image to be shown. Could see no insertion loss of detail either. Bargain. Bought after seeing another's review state that this resolved a similar HDCP issue they had with a BT YouView box.

Great little device.
My Samsung Blu Ray player has just one HDMI output from which I connect it by cable to the HDMI socket on my Samsung TV. However, there was no provision to connect the player to my Yamaha sound bar which has only a pair of phono input sockets. This device has overcome this difficulty by allowing me to connect one HDMI cable to the TV and a second cable, via an HDMI to phono conversion box to the sound bar. Upon connecting up and switching on, I found the whole set-up worked perfectly from the word go. Problem solved! It also appears to enhance the image when playing DVDs.

Works well but did have prob displaying at 1080 on one device
Works well - splits signal into 2. but ..... Bought this item based on reviews previously given in the hope that I would be able to display my virgin media signal on my older projector through a hdmi/vga converter which is Aok with my Sony blue blueray player.... but alas Noooo - displays "no signal" on projector however is TV is normal. Would be better if manufacturers description made this clear. Update : Upgraded review to 4 STARS as I managed to get the device to eventually output virgin box signal to projector - albeit only at 720 not 1080... so obviously its doing something ... quite weird though as the projector has no prob displaying 1080 a blueray player ... it might be something to do with the projector so giving it the benefit of doubt its still a really good buy for the money - double your HDMI output signal

USA 2 pin plug sent with it.
A USA 2 pin plug was sent, even thought it was bought on Amazon.uk. It takes a mains 100-240v that outputs 5v, so stepdown is not needed, so a USA-UK travel adapter is needed. Should not have to purchase this and it’s a time waste to send it back because of an out of region plug type.

Worked perfectly...
I needed to connect a 65" TV and a Projector to a computer via HDMI. The TV was connected with a 15m cable and the Projector was connected with a 10m cable. Whilst the projector worked 'okay', even with the resolution and colour settings turned right down, the connection to the TV was very flaky and unreliable. Given the price I wasn't expecting too much but thought I'd give this little HDMI splitter a try. Plugged it in, connected up the cables and the results are excellent. Both TV and Projector now work at their maximum recommended resolutions and display a rock solid picture. Highly recommended.

Works great but no HDCP bypass.
Purchased this to bypass HDCP however it did not work, i have since purchased a ViewHD Splitter (VHD-1X2MN3D) which worked perfectly. If you just want to split the HDMI signal then this product is great, a smart slick design on the box and works very well.

A HDCP STRIPPER FOR ALL GAMERS.. WORKS PERFECT WITH THE HAUPPAUGE PVR 2 And Every Console....
What a FANTASTIC Splitter.. After going through 6 different Models!!! This Baby, Strips the HDCP. Thank God, after going through so many I had to take a chance after seeing the comment below I needed to take 1 last chance lol. The thing I think people slip up with other Splitters is because most of them are V1.4 and not Version 1.3B which is the only version that Strips HDCP.. Im A Happy bunny at last.. Just Bought Another One. Incase in the future my First One Packs up lol..;-#) Regards Tony Hinks..

Perfect for allowing SKY HD signal to be recorded
Purchased so that I could record the HDCP protected HDMI signal from my Sky HD box and this works perfectly. It splits the Sky HDMI signal into two unprotected signals, one for the TV and one for your recording device. I use the Hauppauge HD Rocket (which does not record HDCP protected HDMI signals) to record the signal in 1080p with perfect results. Very compact and portable device so matches the portability of the Hauppauge HD Rocket making a good combo if you need to take the kit with you to a friends house or on your travels. Highly Recommended.

I used this converter to hook up several old game systems, both directly and via two daisy chained RCA switchers. I will describe my results. The video switchers work great with it, no apparent difference with or without them. Sega Genesis - Very impressive. Some blurriness is to be expected. The Genesis seems to detect my setup and output in widescreen! There is no distortion - circles are circles. The picture fills the screen. Cool! Sega Dreamcast - No problems here. Video is as sharp as can be over RCA cables. Someday maybe I will get the VGA box, but that usually costs several times the price of the HDMI converter. Super Nintendo - Sadly, this was the worst of the batch. Stretched video, extra blurry, I even get distorted colors. Obviously not too much is to be expected from these 16-bit systems, and I should probably blame only the SNES. Sill, I would like the converter to have some better color handling. I would give it a 4.5 for this, if possible. Nintendo 64 - Not too shabby. I use the same video cable as the SNES. Some games utilize the expansion pak to output higher-res graphics and those usually have the option for widescreen. For instance, Turok 2. There is a list on Wikipedia (probably). The games that do not have this option are above SNES quality, and look alright from far away. There does exist a VGA box that is meant to work with Genesis, SNES, as well as N64, and possibly other systems. I do not know if it works well or at all, as it goes for even more than the DC VGA box. PSX - Holy crap I am glad the PS2 is backwards compatible and I have a composite cable for it. The PSX output is irredeemably stretched and the way those jaggies turn into blur makes it hard to look at. I might have to get out the PSX for an imported game, if I'm really desperate, but that is the only case I would not use the PS2 instead. A bit sad. Overall, an awesome converter for my purposes. 4.5 stars!
