My New Teacher and Me! Hardcover – Picture Book, June 25, 2013

We originally ordered this from scholastic years ago and ordered a second copy for my son's elementary teachers to sign when he graduates 5th grade this year.The story is well writen and entertaining. It's a story of a boy's first day of school with a stern, no-nonsense teacher who wants none of his imaginative tales.We read it every night in Kindergarten when my son was having a tough time adjusting to the rigidity of an elementary school schedule. It's a great read for creative kids who think a little outside the box.

This story is just wholesome and wonderful. My daughter and I have read it leading up to the start of the school year and it really helped make her excited about starting school.

Students loved the main character and the rhyming.

We had read the prequel to this book and loved it. I love how the story of Billy and his imagination continue in this book. It’s a good reminder to keep our minds thinking the way children do! I grew up listening to Weird Al and now I get to read his books to my kids 😆.

Although I didn't find the message of this book quite as unique as his previous one, it's still well written and a great lesson for kids. It respects Billy, and through that children everywhere, that may be just a little creative in their stories. It also reminds both children and adults that amazing things can happen whether we want to believe it or not.

I love the Weird Al children's books, we have both and have practically worn them out reading them to both kids. At this point I barely even need to glance at the page as I've read them so many times I have them memorized.Al is a brilliant composer and the stories and rhyming are wonderful. Only wish he would write a few more of these so we could add them to our collection.

I'm a big fan of Weird Al's 1980's-era movie UHF. He came to town so I bought this book for him to sign. I know he's talented, bit I was astonished at how great the poetry and story line is in this book and the companion, When I Grow Up. Look at the reviews - they're all strongly positive. Weird Al has a real winner here and I hope he writes more of these. Great illustrations to boot.

This is one of our favorite books. It's not too short or too long, the pages rhyme, and the story is really cute! I don't get tired of reading it over and over to my kids..lol.

It's a cute story that teaches children about thinking outside of the box.

Al is a fantastic children's book author!!

Once again Al Yankovic has written a book that will appeal to adults and children alike. Much like his song lyrics, he has again proven to be a literary genius! Not sure who enjoyed this book more, me or my daughter!!!
