No issues at all
Works perfect with an old 486 SX machine. No issues with this converter but look into the potential limitations of your machine. Mine did not like anything over 504MB due to a BIOS/LBA limitation.

Recognized by my 486 machine
Worked perfectly in my 486 machine. The CF card I put in was recognized by the motherboard and I was able to format it. I then had to transfer it to my modern PC to install dos through dosbox.

Works with 486-era PCs.
This adapter did work with my 486DX4 system and a 1Gb CF card, but I wasn't able to get much actual use out of it because the system has trouble with IDE disks in general.

Works fine with my old 486 motherboard
Works fine in a old 486 I brought back to life to play DOS games on. Good value and seems nicely built. Nice to have the Compact Flash card in an easy to access area to swap out if needed.

No eject button
Now maybe its me. My retro game machine i use multiple CF cards. So that is why I miss the ejuct button. It works. The Led can't be seen. It would be nice to have pins to add led to front panel. The card does have male IDE connection.I would recommend this seller and item.

Major convenience for vintage PC
I used this to replace an internally connected female IDE to CF adapter because I regularly swap CF cards in my vintage IBM PS/1 PC and having the slot accessible on the rear of the case as opposed to needing to open the case to swap has been a huge time saver for me.
User
Beware
Do not get this adapter. The IDE port is so cheaply designed that it not only destroyed my primary ide cable, its cheap pins damaged my cf card too. It worked at first but after carefully swapping a few times it immediately fell apart. I now have an unusable CF card and PC. Do not buy this product unless youre willing to gamble your equipment.

Work in most PCs
This only works in some systems, as it's reported as a removable device instead of HDD. More specifically this does not work to replace an HDD in a Global VR PGA tour golf arcade cabinet DFI PC. It did however work in 3 different windows 98 PCs. For the price it was worth a try, and I still get to use it. Transfers are faster than HDD but still limited to the ide bus speed. Easy to use and install. Design seems well built, I've reconnected to several machines with out failure or issues. One down side is the power connector should be regular molex as most PCs only have one floppy (4pin) power.
