Went ahead and found the policy according to their website.

TLDR; 
6 months of paid continuous service = call support to unlock. 
If active duty military with deployment orders there is instructions on how to proceed to have the 6 month policy reviewed for a waiver. .

General Device Unlock Requirements

If you have a Cricket phone, it may have been programmed with a lock that prevents it from operating with other compatible wireless networks. Cricket will provide the unlock code upon request, provided Cricket has the unlock code or can reasonably obtain it from the manufacturer, and you have met the following unlocking requirements:

The device you want to unlock has been active for at least six months of paid service on that device.

The device is designed for use on and is locked to Cricket's network.

The device has not been reported lost or stolen.

The device is not associated with a fraudulent account.
If you're an active Cricket customer and believe you meet the eligibility requirements listed above, sign in to My Account to unlock your phone. Some Android phones must be unlocked using the myCricket app. Non-Cricket customers, please call Customer Support at 1-800-CRICKET (1-800-274-2538).

To request a Cricket Mobile Device unlock, please call or chat with a Cricket Support Advocate, or visit your local Cricket Store.

Deployed Military Personnel

Consistent with this Device Unlock Policy, Cricket will unlock one (1) device for active and deployed military personnel who are unable to meet the six (6) month service requirement, provided that all other unlock requirements are met and Cricket is provided with acceptable deployment verification. Please send documentation to militaryunlock@cricketwireless.com or fax to 770-360-4979. Include your name, phone number, date of birth, and the email address where you'd like us to send unlocking directions.
