One of the best

This is one of the best handheld cb radios I’ve used. It has several handy features and works great. My only 2 complaints are battery life which is only short if you use it to talk on a lot, just monitoring channels and only using it occasionally like I normally do at work it lasts over 12 hours but talking frequently cuts it down a lot. The other complaint is the antenna. It does not have a very long range for talking or receiving with the original rubber antenna. It works fine for what I use it for at work but if you want more range either get an adapter and a longer antenna or use an adapter and a mobile antenna. I bought adapters and have both. I use the HYT telescoping antenna with an adapter as well as a Wilson little wil magnet mount mobile antenna on my personal vehicle. At work I just use the rubber antenna it came with because range is not an issue as I’m close enough for it to do what I need it to do. With the other 2 antennas it has a good range up to 7 miles that I’ve talked on it. Overall it’s an excellent choice for a handheld. It takes up very little space feels very solid and high quality just like you would expect from a company like President as they used to make some of the best and still some of the most sought after radios from back in the day and this one is no exception especially with all features like AM and FM capability as well as the NOAH weather broadcasts. This also has automatic squelch control so if you don’t like the static of normal cb radios you turn on the asc feature and it cuts out almost all the static and allows you to receive only the strong clear signals near you. It’s an excellent feature in a small radio. This is perfect if you need to communicate with others for work purposes or even just to keep charged up and toss in your vehicle to monitor traffic because cb radio is still the fastest way to get traffic info and save yourself a lot of time avoiding backups and accidents. It’s even good for off-roading with buddies because it takes up so little space in even the smallest vehicles. I’ve never used a better handheld especially at this price

From Zero to Hero: Meet the President Randy II CB Radio – Your New Best Friend in Communication!

Alright, let's talk about the President Randy II CB Radio. And no, it's not named after your neighbor's uncle who always shows up to the block party with too many hot dogs. This little gadget is like the James Bond of handheld radios, except it won't shoot lasers or drive a car underwater (unfortunately).First off, let's talk about the design. It's sleeker than a dolphin slipping through a pool of butter. You know how some handheld radios look like they were designed by a committee of grandmas from the '80s? Not this one. It's got that futuristic vibe that says, 'I'm here to communicate AND look cool doing it.'But looks aren't everything, right? Right. Because this bad boy packs more features than a Swiss Army knife on steroids. You've got your channel scanning, your squelch control, your noise blanker – it's like a buffet of radio goodness. And don't even get me started on the ease of use. I swear, my grandma could figure this thing out, and she still calls the internet 'the interweb.'And the quality? Oh, let me tell you about the quality. It's like the radio equivalent of biting into a perfectly ripe peach – crisp, clear, and oh-so-satisfying. Whether you're chatting with your trucker buddies or just listening in on the neighborhood gossip, you'll feel like you're right there in the action. So, in conclusion, do I recommend the President Randy II CB Radio? Heck yeah, I do! It's like the Swiss Army knife of communication devices – except it won't help you open a bottle of wine. But hey, nobody's perfect. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a pat on the back to whoever invented this little slice of radio heaven.

Not for everyone, but...

I got this radio to complement my fleet of FRS/GMRS and MURS radios (yes, pears on top of apples and oranges).Pros:• This radio is light years ahead of the old Radio Shack CB handhelds I got back in the 90's - it has better reception, FM modulation, smaller size, modern battery pack and other options...• In a SHTF situation, you still get some access to CB if need be, with the understanding of how little an 11 meter HT with a dinky antenna can realistically provide.Cons:• Price. Back in the day, I got my Radio Shack CB HTs for $20 apiece on sale. It is great to have FM in this new radio, but who is using CB in FM mode anyway? But even the previous AM-only version of this President radio is still quite expensive...• FRS/GMRS and MURS handhelds beat this CB radio hands down in terms of compact HT-to-HT communication, and at a lower price. The only way to compensate for that is to hook this radio up to a bigger outside antenna of appropriate size (divide 11 meters by 4; and then try to coil up to a manageable size). This kind of defeats the purpose of having a handheld vs a mobile CB radio. Conclusion:• Am I glad I got this radio? Yes. While I would not recommend it for HT-to-HT communication (use FRS/GMRS or MURS instead), it can still be useful for monitoring CB traffic while driving. There are still quite a few truck drivers out there who use CB (AM). The President New Virginia mag mount antenna seems to work OK. Not stellar by any stretch of imagination, but just - hmmm - OK.• Would I get another one of these radios? Probably not. But everything depends on one's particular situation. For a 4 watt CB radio, it's not bad.

Excellent handheld radio

I bought this radio hoping it would be lighter and smaller than the Cobra, and the Uniden handheld radios and it really is. Also having a rechargeable battery pack is really nice. Distance is about as expected for a handheld radio.I would definitely buy another if I needed another handheld.

President Randy II Raido

Awesome Raido, pros: solid , feels great, good sound quality, lots of features, good range off the President Virginia antenna. Cons : short battery time. Speaker/ Mic jack only works with President's Mic.
