Sulphate 4% Cleanser for Body and Hair, Gentle Fragrance-Free Shampoo and Body Wash, 8.1 Fl Oz

I wasn't sure what to expect with this shampoo based on the varied experiences described in the reviews, but I decided to give it a shot anyway and am sooo glad I did!!! I have an extremely dry scalp year-round. Most shampoos just exacerbate the dryness and itchiness. Surprisingly, despite how well this shampoo cleans my roots and scalp, somehow it doesn't dry either out. It simply rinses away the flakes and even keeps them at bay for days, and I've also noticed that my scalp feels so much less itchy. Like most other reviewers noted, this product is super thin and runny and doesn't lather up very much, so you will likely use a lot more than you would with regular shampoo or body wash. Knowing this, I lather up my scalp and let it sit for a few minutes to allow it to run through to the ends of my hair while I clean the rest of my body. That seems to help use less product while ensuring that all of my hair gets hit with the soap. The bottle is tiny but thankfully low in price and worth every penny and more. This is def my go-to from now on!

Good for cleansing your hair to get all of any kind of hair products out. Jolie recommended it and I say it’s good. I’m happy I bought it. I only use it once or twice a month but it is a very good product..

SO SAD! Why oh why can't someone simply make a normal shampoo without fragrance??? This product gets five stars for cleaning, but one star for consistency. It runs off your hands so quickly that you don't have time to get it up onto your head. After four sessions of trying to figure out a way, I returned it. I was so very hopeful. Coincidentally, I rediscovered the EO "Sweet Orange" shampoo, that's scented only with essential oils, and so far the fragrance is fine and the cleaning is good.

Good product...mild and not too drying. Convenient to have one product for body cleansing and also shampoo.

I had a really underwhelming experience with The Ordinary Sulphate 4 Percent Cleanser for Body and Hair. I was hoping for a simple everyday cleanser that would work for both showering and shampooing, but it fell short in almost every area. For something marketed as gentle, it felt harsher than I expected. After using it a few times, my skin started feeling tight and a little itchy, and my scalp didn’t react much better. Instead of feeling clean and refreshed, I felt like it stripped too much moisture. As a body wash, the texture is thin and doesn’t lather well, so I ended up using more product than usual to feel like I was actually getting clean. As a shampoo, it was even less impressive. It didn’t rinse out as easily as I hoped, and my hair felt dry and tangled afterward. I also noticed some mild irritation around my hairline, which definitely wasn’t what I wanted from a supposedly mild formula. The scent is very plain, almost chemical, which isn’t a deal breaker but doesn’t make the experience any more enjoyable. I appreciate minimal formulas, but this one felt like it sacrificed comfort without offering any real benefits in return. Overall, this product just didn’t deliver. It wasn’t gentle, it wasn’t hydrating, and it didn’t perform well as either a body cleanser or a shampoo. I wouldn’t purchase it again and wouldn’t recommend it if you have sensitive skin or a dry scalp.
