Worth the high price
I bough several of the VIVO desk riser, and while OK, I wasn't thrilled with it. For my personal use, I wanted to see if the $200 extra is worth it for me to buy this Versadesk....luckily I bought a good as new used desk for $150. I hope to make a fair comparison since not many reviewers here have owned the cheaper risers and the versa desk. What I like: 1. Very good packaging. Very easy assembly. Just 4 thumb screws. No tools needed 2. Thick material...about 50% thicker than the VIVO. 3. Better material...surface is glossy and high quality. Switches are high quality. With the VIVO you get basic MDF surface that has the finish of a cheap closet shelf 4. Much sturdier. Perhaps unfair b/c this is a motorized unit. But it feels and looks much sturdier. What I don't like: though the keyboard tray is sturdier than the VIVO...there's still some flex. The weakness here is that the brackets holding the keyboard is just bent steel. For the price, please reinforce it. I hate bouncy keyboard trays. Summary: when deciding between a $100 and $350 riser, the more expensive Versadesk is obviously much better built, much sturdier. It's also much heavier. Get the VIVO if you are on a budget. It's not as good but works fine. Get the VIVO if you want to save 20lbs of weight. Some of our counters have a hard time handling the versa desk with 2 monitors, etc. Get the VIVO if you don't want another power plug. Get the VIVO if you want rapid up/down adjustment. The motor on the Versadesk is smooth and quiet...but not as fast as manual risers. But for me and for most, you'll the quality of the Versadesk much more reasuring, especially when you have it right next to the VIVO. It's much better, much sturdier. And it's American designed and made :)

Good Product
After sitting at desk for 8 hours, i thought i would have to retire soon due to back pain. The desk has improved my quality of life. Good construction. Works easy. Super easier. It does make a popping sound during the first second of when using it. But only last a milli second.

Great standing desk option
I did a lot of research and comparing this desk to others before settling on this one. It was very easy to assemble (just two pieces). It moves up and down with a button on the front of the desk and glides very easily. Overall it seems very sturdy. Note that the Keyboard/Mouse tray is permanently fixed to the desk and it is not very deep, so my natural/ergonomic split keyboard hangs over the edge just a bit. It easily fits two monitors on it on the 40" desk. When it is at its lowest height, it's about 4" tall which is close to the monitor riser of my third monitor when used sitting. I docked one star because of the condition when it arrived. The box was perfectly fine, but we noted that there was some paint transfer or scratches on the top of the desk, and one of the screws holding the movement assembly underneath the desk had partially ripped out. We fixed it with wood glue and put everything back together. Outside of that, it looks great and is a good value for the money. Other units were a lot more expensive.

Probably one of my best purchases EVER
I could not be more pleased with the quality of this product! I developed a hernia and struggled to sit at my desk for hours at a time. I needed to stand up periodically. This is super stable and holds my 3 monitors as well as my laptop. Itโs big enough to also hold a pen holder, 2-3 cups , a frame, calculator, phone charger etc. The convenience of pressing a button to raise and lower (smoothly btw) is a must! It also has a usb plug so my phone charger doesnโt need an extra extension cord. Probably one of the best purchases Iโve ever made. Even now after surgery and healing I still use it.

Simple installation and built well
More vertical range than my manual standing desk converter and the only flaw is that it moves slowly. Nonetheless I'm impressed with the build quality.

Durable and Useful
The desk works perfectly for it's intended use. I have the dual monitor attachment that mounts to the VersaDesk along with my laptop as the keyboard and 3rd monitor. I'm often on meetings all day long and this allows me to sit or stand in a matter of seconds and get it to the exact height I want for my personal need. What could be improved? - Making the device a full surge protector outlet system so you can plug your devices in. It has a USB charger next to the up/down buttons but I have a lot of cords going throughout the desk to connect to the monitors and outlets. - Speaking of cords, it would be great to have a cord management system running underneath the upper level desk to keep it clean. Overall it has a cord management post for the dual monitors but that's it. - An option for nicer desktop material. It comes in fiber board black/grey or white. It is fine and durable but it would be nice to maybe have a choice of solid wood options for a nicer home office. Overall, I'm very pleased with the desk and people comment about it often. The above are minor improvements as would some LED lighting options that make it better but could also impact the price. I find it much better than the manual stand desks and the value is definitely there. If you are in the market, don't hesitate to get this desk.

FANTABULOUS! A RISER THAT A PETITE WOMEN CAN USE WITH NO ISSUES!!!!
This is a solid built Powered Desktop Riser! I bought this to replace a desktop riser that had a manual mechanism which was way to heavy to lift day in and day out. If you have a back back, a petite woman or person with very little arm strength then this is the best solution! The 36" riser fits 2 32" monitors with zero issues. I bought it in white. It is a really beautiful, clean and sleek looking. So solid and not junky materials. Fits perfect with my office's decor. The riser goes up and down with zero issues. This is an absolute God's sent. Another plus the company is here in Los Angeles, California! Love supporting solid companies that make amazing products!!!! Just note that the keyboard does not retract so when you sit you may need to use a traditional keyboard tray. Just a note that if you are petite woman you will need a strong person to help you place it on your desktop. The keyboard tray does have to be assembled to the riser but that took my male co-worker 15 minutes. Super simple and not confusing. The product is just aces and spades!

Versadesk has an interesting definition of "stable and sturdy"
When I first set up this converter I noticed that it had a slight lean forward. I tested it at different heights and confirmed that it does lean forward. The attached image shows a 2.7ยฐ lean, and that measurement was zeroed on the metal frame that sits on the table. Not only that, but because of the lean, the keyboard tray hits the table first while the top surface is still lowering. That causes an abrupt shift which seems quite jarring. I attempted to contact Versadesk support via their web form, but after waiting for over a week I received no response. I called their support line and was told to email support. I emailed support images of the different level readings I was getting, and I was told the engineering team would need to review them and get back to me. I waited three weeks and sent a follow-up. It took over a week to get a response that this was "completely normal" and that was it. I spent so long waiting for responses from their support that I'm outside the return period and since this is normal the warranty doesn't apply. The part that disappoints me the most about this is I bought this desk after returning one that cost half as much because it didn't feel stable enough. With the 80lbs weight rating, I justified spending twice as much to get something that would be sturdy. Instead, I spent twice as much and ended up stuck with something I'm less happy with. Lesson learned. Next time there's an issue with a purchase I'll just return it right away instead of waiting on support to resolve it.
