this generator is for off grid use, but if you bought this generator for on grid use call a service tech. to reprogram it to on grid use

Generac Generators do not last
I purchased a 12kw generator, it has been well maintained over the last 14 years, including scheduled maintenance for the lifters, etc. I found out recently that my engine needs to be replaced due to poor compression. I am very disappointed in the durability of the unit. We have not used it much except for hurricane Sandy, I have had a snow thrower powered by tecumseh engine, it is still running perfectly after 30 years (well maintained), does not seem Generac is built to last

Our Generac broke,we’re still waiting for repair 5 days later. When you need it most they’re not
Liked it when it worked but seems like for the money you invest it should last for many, many years. Especially since it’s not used frequently for the main part. We have kept up with maintenance on it but it broke and can not get a technician to repair it when needed most. Have heard other people complain about relatively short lifespan of Generac generators after I’ve spent a good bit of money on one. Wish I would have looked into other alternatives.

Love this generator!
I bought my first generac generator 14. KW. Had a power outage just recently for over 12 hours and that unit just ran perfect. I installed it myself and it wasn't that hard but all the connections were pretty close by. I've had this generator now for 10 years and it's hard for me to believe that it's been that long. Very satisfied.
