Collins 835 Ringbound Telephone and Address Book black

I got this to replace a smaller ring-bound version from Collins that used to exist but my one has become too tatty to continue with after about 9 years of being bashed about and having drops of coffee spilt on it. This is alright - and I did order extra page inserts too - but I do find it a little less likeable due to it's larger size. One thing I have eventually learnt after 70 years on this planet is to only use a pencil to enter details because so many of them become surplus to requirement - or need to be updated - after a shorter time than you'd imagined. I'd never consider acquiring any other address book other than a ring-bound one and Collins produce the best of those. So, apart from a larger cover size than I'm used to, it's great.Eamonn

An excellent book I've had the smaller version for years and it finally wore out so I wanted the same again and found this bigger version which is even better

The Address Book is rather large, well-made, attractive and "chunky", with the index pages made of sturdy card (unlike the spare pages which are of less durable paper). The rings which hold the pages are also sturdy and strongly sprung, so keep your fingers clear when closing the rings! I would have preferred a single, stiff card page for each letter of the alphabet, and there is plenty of room in the large rings to accomodate these, especially if, like me, you do not need the additional, paper pages or the business-card holders at the back of the book. Unfortunately, each of the stiff-card pages share two letters of the alphabet, so names for A's and B's etc. will be all mixed up, unless you do what I do and use the front of the page for A's and the back for B's, etc., blanking out one of the two letters - each page holds 9 addresses, so I am unlikely to need the spare, paper pages. Likewise, the 20, business-card pockets at the back of the book are unlikely to be used by me, though others may find them useful. Previous Address Books with stitched backs (also a sprung-lid Address Pad) have fallen to bits, over the years, so I needed something sturdier, and this Address Book looks promising, with its large rings and strong, card pages. If the ring holes enlarge with use, I can always stick some hole-protectors on them. Although the Address Book is much larger than my previous ones, this is an advantage for me, because the smaller ones were always getting lost! However, it is too big to fit into a pocket or a handbag, so is best used in a fixed location, preferably next to the phone. In summary, I am quite pleased with this Address Book, though it could have been designed better.

God quality but a bit too large. Only has 1 page per letter of the alphabet. You can buy more but this is at an extra cost! I do feel there should have Ben at least 2 pages per letter.

Would have given this 5 stars but the alphabetic were not reinforced as I would have liked.

This address book arrived on time undamaged. It is very good & provides sections for further detail such as mob number, landline number, etc. Only thing I would comment on is that the sections were very cramped together so it made the end result look somewhat untidy. Also the label that was on the front made a mark on the cover which it is unable to remove.

We have wasted a lot of money over the years on fancy address books. This one is perfect. Apart from the A-Z index, it has spare pages included. There are also plastic wallets for business cards, which have been very useful. I ordered extra pages so that I could separate trade and family numbers from those of friends. Certainly worth every penny and it won’t need to be changed for the rest of our lives!

I purchased this as a replacement for the original purchased over twenty years ago. Cannot beet this item. Best ever
