Incredible value and an awesome product for iron-on patches

I've used this for both patches that I've bought without realizing they were sew-on, as well as on patches that I re-heated with an iron to remove and relocate (Usually when doing this, the iron-on adhesive still works, but sometimes it doesn't!).Anyway, I bought this stuff on a whim. I can't believe how well it worked, or much you get for a mere three bucks. Amazing! In these photos: 'I was a Teenage Werewolf' was a patch that had no iron-on backing. 'Sorry We're Dead' was a patch that I moved to a different area of the jacket, and most of the original adhesive stayed in the old spot because I didn't heat it up enough before peeling it off.Amazon is asking me to give specific stars for 'Thickness' and 'Stretch'. Don't seem relevant... Not sure why, but...This stuff isn't thick, but I don't see why it would need to be. It has plenty of adhesion for my uses.Stretch? Not sure of intent of the semantics here. It doesn't physically stretch.... That said, there is so much here though that I can certainly stretch it's use. It's super-easy to use:1. Using scissors, cut out an area slightly larger than the patch (or what you're trying to bond).2. Place your patch on the ironing board face down. The HeatnBond sheet has a paper liner on one side. Put the glossy side of the HeatnBond you cut out on the backside of the patch that's facing you, The paper side of the HeatnBond should be facing up, towards you... Iron it to seal it to seal the shiny side to the backside of the patch.3. After it cools, use the scissors to trim the edges of the HeatnBond that extends beyond the edges of your patch, so that it's the same size as your patch. Peel off the paper so the adhesive is exposed.4. Flip the patch over and place it on where you'd like it to be. Iron it5. Let it cool before moving the jacket (or whatever it is you're working on). You're done. Roughly a 5-10 minute process. Easy Peazy.6. After it cools, and the jacket (or whatever) has moved around a bit, you 'may' need to hit the patch with an iron again. That's not a fault of this product. That's pretty much standard practice with iron-on patches. You often need to hit patches with an iron 2-3 times between the first 2-3 times you wear the clothing until they are really bonded. To summarize this short novel: Great stuff... an absolute steal at $3!

Great bond!

These Boy Scout patches wouldn't stick no matter how I ironed them (and yes, they are supposedly iron-on) so I bought this Heat-n-Bond for these and any future patches and it worked perfectly! Cut out a piece of product, iron onto backside of patch, let cool, trim any excess, peel off paper, place onto uniform, then iron front side of patch. All done! Super-solid bond and took about 3 minutes total.

Bookbinding must-have

I use this to make book cloth for bookbinding. (Tutorial available on YouTube by Sea Lemon if anyone is interested in the technique.) It works perfectly every time, and I'm super happy with all of my book covers.

Works decent but you may need to layer 2 or 3 times.

It bonds and melts well but is a bit too thin if you expect it to fuse into most fabrics. Following instructions and using precise temperature press and checking with a NIST Fluke IR Gun it barely held very tight weave cotton together, it is just too thin. To hold normal fabrics and bonding things like patches, etc. expect to layer it 2 or 3 times to get decent penetration and adhesion. Then it works fine.

Excellent Adhesive for Patches

HeatnBond UltraHold Iron-On Adhesive works really well! I used it to iron on a patch to a jacket, and it’s still holding strong even after multiple wears and washes. The adhesive was easy to apply and provided a secure bond that hasn't budged. It’s perfect for any DIY projects or adding patches to clothing. I’m really impressed with how well it holds up, and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone needing a reliable iron-on adhesive!

Not sticky enough, and then too much!

Used these to iron some used patches from our daughter's old Girl Scout vest onto her new one.First of all, you get a LOT of iron-on paper, so if you need a lot, this may be for you. But if you only need a little bit, look elsewhere.Second, the directions are worded a little funny, but basically you iron onto the paper just for twos seconds, then let it cool, then two seconds, then let it cool, and continue until the paper lifts off okay....that can be tricky cause it doesn't adhere evenly across the paper. Then you put whatever you're ironing on and go for 8 seconds at a time. This is where it got really hairy. The patches slowly started to slide, and the iron-on glue them started adhering straight into the iron, then it was stringy gluey everywhere. If you have this product and are going to use it, cut it a bit smaller than the shape because it will ooze out a bit as it heats. Also, maybe pin the shape over the iron-on glue to the fabric before you start ironing so they don't slide. (Watch out, those pins will get hot so let them cool before you remove them).None of these tips were in the instructions, so don't end up with a glue-y iron like I did. And lota of extra iron-on that I'm not going to use...

Works on BJJ gi’s (so far!)

I learned from some other reviews that I may need a couple of adhesive sheets for this to stick patches on really well.At first, I tried using just one, and it came out okay, but for my purposes (a patch on a BJJ gi) I really needed to anchor the patch on well. These gi’s are made of cotton and extremely thick and dense, so I wasn’t sure how it would work.I so far have placed two patches (the red triangles in the pictures) with two adhesive sheets each, and they are down very nicely! I paid $35 to have the same two patches placed on another gi.BJJ is a rough sport that involves pulling on your opponents’ clothing, so I’m sure I will have a valuable update in the future—and I WILL update this review.Highly recommended, especially considering the price!
