What is it?

Perhaps one of the most scintillating, mesmerising looking tea ingredients there is, these cornflower petals will add a burst of colour to even the most monochrome tisane! When brewed alone, these petals adopt a more neutral flavour and taste, but when mixed with an existing infusion they can make all the difference.

A real feast for the eyes, by all accounts!

What Does It Taste Like?

Compared to the bew deep purple colour of the leaves, this is a fairly neutral flavour. This is a lightly floral brew with a mellow touch. You can't go wrong with cornflower petals; they garner a universally likeable and clean flavour.

Let's face it- these petals are used more for their appearance, than their neutral taste.

What Does It Smell Like?

Reminiscent of sunflower petals, these petals produce a floral spice which is light and enticing.

What Does It Look Like?

A slightly blue infusion, taking after the leaves themselves.

Caffeine Level

None. Like most al teas, this is entirely caffeine free.

Where Does It Come From?

These cornflower petals are grown in Hungary.

Overview

Whilst we of course promote the use of these cornflower petals by themselves, we concede that these petals are a better ingredient in a tisane than a solo tea.

These petals can be blended with the likes of lemongrass, mint, or other flower based tisanes (or basically anything of your choice).

Alternatively, these petals are great for decorating cakes etc, or adding to an Earl Grey tea for effect.

Directions

Add two teaspoons to a strainer, pour on boiling water and leave to steep for 3 minutes.
