ROUTINE 1: Two wedding rings are borrowed from a "married couple" in the audience. Both the rings are locked onto a combination padlock. The audience members are allowed to try to open the lock but no one will be able to succeed. The magician then asks the couple the year in which they were married and has them dial the four digits into the combination which has not left their hands at any stage. WOW! the lock opens and the rings are returned back to the couple. ROUTINE 2: The magician hands out a brass combination lock and asks the spectator to try and open it. After a few tries the spectator cannot open the lock. Then the magician, without touching the lock or knowing the spectators birthday asks the spectator to enter the year he or she was born. The spectator goes on to open the lock using his or hers birthday or they could use their mum or dads birth year, the lock opens!!
