Oh the Flavor!!! Fantastic smokey ham base. I couldn't ask for more.

Paste concentrate. Add boiling water to make a liquid base. From there you can make ham gravy. A little goes a long way! Tasted just like the ham gravy my mom would make. Since you use very little (a couple of tablespoons), I feared it going bad after it was opened so I made the rest into the liquid base and froze it.

Minor's products are A number 1. A very little goes a LONG way. If you use too much it actually ruins the dish. I'd go a bit less than they suggest because it's easier to add a bit more than to take some out. This ham base is SO useful and full of flavor. Green beans love this stuff. If you want ham and beans and don't have ham on hand for flavoring, use this. It is amazing. This will last me and my wife a very, very long time. Kept in the fridge after it's opened, I imagine it'll last over a year. Yes, really. Go ahead and order this, I know you'll go back for more. BTW, their site has tons more of goodies for you to peruse, just be aware the shipping charges are extremely HIGH. That's why I buy them from Amazon.

I gave this four stars only because I was disappointed that it is a paste rather than a paste. Must have been my misunderstanding! Powder would probably keep longer on a shelf where I feel the paste needs refrigeration. I've not used ham flavoring before so am unable to compare to other brands. However, any soup that I've flavored with it has made a hit with my family. The flavor is pretty intense and so I would be careful to not overdo it when adding to your food.

It is too expensive, but it is good for soups.

This is the best natural tasting base. Easy to use.

This is a salty ham base whereas better than bullion is a sweet ham base. This is what I was looking for. I did not taste anything weird about this, but it does work in recipes where you would want tasso or country ham for flavor rather than a sweet ham taste.

Great product to use in your beans ! Hard to find in the grocery stores . Thankful I can get it online .Very concentrated so it only takes a little. After opening , put it in the fridge. Has a long shelf life.
