Forest Master FM10D-7-TC 7 Ton Electric Log Splitter with Guard

Split about 20 large rounds, 20-45cm diameter and 25-40cm long in about 2 hours. At least half of these had already been attempted unsuccessfully with a heavy Fiskars maul so really amazed at how effortless it splits even really knotty wood. The video shows a knot free beech log which nearly filled a wheelbarrow (see pic) once split which took about 5 mins. I’ve not bothered with the guard or the “workbench” (which is actually the base of the guard) because my rounds are too large. Even so I doubt I’ll fit it as I wear a chainsaw helmet with steel mesh face guard, and steel toe capped boots, and gloves. Do ensure you stand behind the switch (the two handed operation kind of makes you do this) as some logs split violently and fly across the yard at right angles to the blade travel which could cause injury or damage to windows or vehicles. This machine weighs nearly 50kg so it is heavy but without the guard you can fit a handle and drag it on wheels. I’ll be ordering the stand as using it on the floor is back breaking. I propped on very large logs which made much easier but you may need two people to lift it off the ground. 1st time I’ve used and only once in well over 100 splits did it not manage to penetrate the log and actually split it (took 2 attempts) however be aware that knotty wood stays together and may need a sharp hand axe to be used to cut remaining fibres. The only logs that couldn’t be split into manageable small pieces are knotty ones where the branch(es) hadn’t been sawn flush and it was impossible to position properly on the log guide rails - just as it promises in the instructions - these had to be finished off with my trusty Fiskars maul so it isn’t completely redundant. A brilliant piece of kit.

What amazing tool. Very heavy so if the delivery driver won't hump it down - my Amazon driver did - superman! The machine is easy to use. Both hands are needed to operate the machine, so log must be secured between rams. I found that I ended up using an extra small log between the end ram to aid is splitting as it stops some 200mm at the end. It also pays to ensure that the wood cut is straight as those at an angle can cause the wood to rise up. You can control the ram by releasing the lever if the wood slips. All in all it's a fantastic machine and has saved me lots of time by not using an axe. Also can split logs that are 10" dia.

This is my favourite machine! It is amazing at splitting logs, particularly large logs, and slices through them with ease making the job quick and enjoyable. It is solidly built and extremely fit for purpose with the double blades - I have recently split all of my wood for next winter with this dream machine! It is heavy but the wheels and handle make moving it an easy task. If you are looking to purchase, I highly recommend this wood splitter - it’s the best purchase I’ve made!

Delivered promptly, the item weighs in at 54kg which is probably why there were some bent bits on it, which I duly straightened,so no problems really , I guess it had been dropped. I have used the splitter and am very impressed , if you have a big heap of logs to split I really feel it will be quicker than using an axe, although I will keep my axe nearby for the really knotty logs , all in all I am very happy with the splitter and pleased that I chose this product ,only time will tell if I get any problems , it would have been 5 stars but for the slight damage that had occurred .

Works well splitting logs of lots of sizes. You soon learn what to split and where to split them. I bought this without a stand splitting large trunks in half on the ground and then putting the splitter on a work bench to save my back bending (it is a two handed operation- pressing a button with one hand and operating a lever with the other) to split the pieces into manageable logs for the wood burner. The guide adjustment saves unnecessary travel and time. The guard is not easily fitted and doesn’t have to be used since Brexit but can save injury! Take care!!

A great addition to my log burner as it works very well and provides the logs the log burner eats up so quickly.It is quite heavy but can be moved around OK on its wheels. For very heavy large logs it is safer and easier to use at ground level but also benefits from a second helper to steady the log while being split taking a great deal of care to keep hands well clear of the splitter action parts. when using the splitter I would recommend wearing safety boots to protect feet and toes from falling logs, these can be cheaply purchased (from £15.00 upwards). I have purchased a stand now which will save a lot of bending down to operate the controls.

Anche se un pò caro i 500€ li vale tutti! Ne ho anche un'altro manuale da 7T ma con questo è tutta un'altra storia.Confermo le recensioni positive su questo elettroutensile, qualcuno ha scritto che non è potente, non è vero è uno spaccalegna da 7 Tonnellate ed è potentissimo, spacca tronchi anche con nodi senza fare nessuna fatica come se fossero dei grissini! Appena arrivato l'ho messo subito all'opera in circa 3 ore ha spaccato 7-8 quintali di legna di ulivo/quercia e a parte il tasto di accensione che è un pò scomodo va che è una meraviglia! L'ho usato senza banco ne gabbia di protezione ma bisogna fare molta attenzione perché se partono i pezzi spaccati potrebbe diventare molto pericoloso! Chi non è tanto pratico è meglio che lo monti tutto, io anche per questione di spazio ancora non l'ho fatto. Per chi come me non si accontenta del solo manuale cartaceo e fosse interessato anche a quello in PDF basta andare sul sito di Forest Master e cliccare sulla voce "Manuale degli spaccalegna serie FM10"Soddisfattissimo di questo acquisto, arrivato puntuale e molto ben confezionato non ha deluso le mie aspettative, l'ho ribattezzato Terminator2😆

Una cortadora de leña muy buena y potente. Fácil de usar y el tope del ariete es realmente bueno. Recomiendo esta máquina.
