Trident Wild Alaskan Smoked Sockeye Salmon - 567g/20 Oz

Definitely has the best taste and quality of the three different suppliers I've purchased from off Amazon. Slightly larger portion than the other offerings with plenty of smokey flavored stock. Simply wonderful!

The smoked Sockeye salmon arrived the day projected and that night I had to eat about 4 oz. of it with some buttered pumpernickel bread. It was terrific! Reminded me of the smoked fish I used to have in my grandfather's Milwaukee store in the 1950s. My wife also had it with her eggs, just warmed lightly and along with English muffin topped by Philly cream cheese. She described it like a gourmet b'fast and I plan to have the same tomorrow. (Last night I had it with my evening meal - the smoked salmon - lightly warmed accompanied by Triscuts covered with cream cheese. You can't beat it.

This is wild salmon it has a wild flavor not like the pink chunk you get at the store. It does not have that store bought salmon smell to it. It is flakeyand hard to load and stay on the cracker. For me it is a touch salty. Be careful opening the sealed pouch there is lots of oily brine inside.Followup: if you take salmon out of pouch and place leftovers in another container put the brine in with it. I didn't and it lost some of its flavor and dried out a little.

I love this salmon. Costco used to sell this beginning in October/November every year. I always bought several boxes for me, and sent it as gifts to friends for Christmas. This is wild caught salmon, not from Atlantic salmon farms. It will last 2-3 years unopened (there is an expiration date on the box). Once opened, it must be used within 7 days. But, alas, Costco in Georgia did not have it in 2020. I always took several boxes to the beach in the summer, because it travels well, and is easy to serve and to put in chowders. After I drain and skin it, I always put infused olive oil on it, and sometimes hot sauce. The only places I could find it in 2020 were Amazon and ebay. I ordered from Amazon to try and check out taste and the expiration date. It was the same great taste with a date 3 or 4 years out. Then, I ordered boxes for friends. I only hope theirs tasted as good as other years. (it was cheaper when Costco had it)

I have been buying this style salmon from different vendors for years, I just wanted to try something different.Other vendors package it in 3x6 ounce pouches, just right. This vendor supplies it in 1x20 oz single bag. That would be ok, but after consuming the usual 6 ounces, the other 14 oz now need to be refrigerated, which destroys flavor for the rest.The package does not say "refrigerate after opening", it says -in fine print on the back side - "once opened, keep refrigerated and use within 5 days".But I eat salmon just once a week, so the rest will now go to trash!The box says 10 servings, but the picture shows a recipe which "serves 12"The bag has lots of very expensive water.What else can I not trust?The taste was ok, but the contents were falling apart. Definitely not buying this again.

This was a gift. It arrived fast and looking fresh. Although not yet cooked, I am told it looks great.

Served this for a church coffee hour and it was a huge hit.

Was very disappointed in the quality. Didn't taste very good. The ones I order directly from Washington State or Alaska is much, much better.
