Crafts and Hobbies: A Step-by-Step Guide to Creative Skills

This is a great book, packed with information on a lot of things. The only problem I have is that the font is kind of small. That may not bother most people, but I have bad eyesight so it bothers me. I realize that the only way to get so much info into the book without its being very large is to use smaller print. It's pretty heavy as it is.I just wanted to let other folks with imperfect vision know that this could be difficult to read. I can read it with magnification, but it is difficult for me and probably not too good for me either. I Considered giving it only four stars, but decided that wasn't being fair. The only reason I don't love it instead of like it is not its fault because my eyesight really is worse than most.

I own plethora of how-to books-- in fact that is all I read. I love learning a new craft as often as I can.This book is by far one of my most useful and informative in my collection.Although the information on the various crafts and hobbies are brief, they are concise and really get you motivated on getting you started doing it.I love that it has more step by step photographs than illustrations; that's very rare to find in older books. I also love that the first chapter is about proper safety and ventilation-- a step that many books don't even touch, or are too brief about.

This book was used but in excellent condition and delivered quickly. This book has a great selection of hobbies to choose from and a helpful amount of info on each one.

Really helped with basket weaving for me. I had purchased supplies and they came with instructions that were not understandable for me. This book really showed me how to begin the weaving and I am ready to make baskets now.

When I found this book I was amazed to find that many of the classic glazes that have been used by potters firing at cone 6 in oxidation were in this book. It is a wonderful and accurate introduction to many crafts and would well serve as a primer for anyone interested in pottery. In fact I would say it was a necessary foundation. That is probably the case for most of the other crafts covered as well.

This book has very valuable information and can't be beat for the money. If you're interested in a second income or just would like a hobby the book goes from soup to nuts you can imagine what I mean. Learn, apply yourself and you're well on your way to raising your income without knocking on doors for someone to hire you, you'll be able to hire them.

I had this book as a child in the 80's and as an Adult in 2016 I had to get another copy. It's got everything for hobby crafts. From basics of leather, soap, to ceramics and book making. This book is great for all ages and full of fun inspiration.

My Mum bought this book when I was a kid in order to find things for us to do during school holidays. I made a string picture for my grandmother which still hang's in the house where she lived and which we family now visit as a holiday home. I wanted to get back into making string pictures so hunted a long time for this book. It is a great introduction to all sorts of arts and crafts.

I have another readers digest book about needlework which is fantastic so when I saw this one for sale I had to buy it. It gives in depth instructions for lots of different crafts. Some crafts admittedly are a little retro, but still, couldnt resist. Clear diagrams and loads of photos. A brilliant buy
