Goblin Slayer, Vol. 1 (manga) (Volume 1) (Goblin Slayer (manga), 1) [Kagyu, Kumo, Steinbach, Kevin, Kurose, Kousuke, Kannatuki, Noboru, Pistillo, Bianca] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Goblin Slayer, Vol. 1 (manga) (Volume 1) (Goblin Slayer (manga), 1) Review: One of the best dark fantasies I’ve seen - Definitely not for the faint of heart! Which is exactly why I enjoy this manga and anime so much. I’m a fan of dark fantasy that isn’t afraid to push the boundaries. Goblin Slayer is definitely that in spades. As others have noted this is not for kids. Also not for adults that are easily offended or that don’t understand the genre. The sexual nature of some scenes—including a non-pornographic but graphic rape scene—and violence is brutal, some are saying overly so, but that is what makes this genre so unique and appealing. It is also beautifully written and drawn, with plenty of your typical sexual tension and humor throughout that is common in this genre and makes the story fun. 5 stars for Goblin Slayer in my opinion on every level—but again if you are easily offended and/or don’t understand the graphic nature or sexuality of these Japanese genres you’ll probably need to skip this one. Review: I loved it. Very graphic but honest about good vs. evil bringing your thru journeys and adventures. - I felt like I was watching an extended version of the movie while reading this. It was a fast very enjoyable read and I really like this comic. It is graphic, showing a person being actually raped by a goblin, but at the same time it doesn't make a joke about them being evil which most Disney sorts do quite extensively. It seems like evil is made into a laughing harmless thing that should be overlooked typically and this comic doesn't do that one bit. When they're referring to good vs. evil it actually lets you know what that is which is being fought against in this world and why we appreciate what our brave soldiers do who do still protect us on the good fight which not all are ready to confront even with it being greatly needed. The movie was really great and I'm surprised I hadn't heard of it before. There wasn't a flaw about it with its great characters and storyline and situations they show you the characters cleverly working their way through. I loved it and highly recommend goblin slayer (just watch out for it certainly not being rated PG similarly to the movie Braveheart.)

Getting Gobbed Never Looked So Good...
Let's face it, Goblin Slayer will never make it into an anime without major censoring. So, let the medium of manga suffice for the dark fantasies of the author made into a visual representation. If you don't understand what getting "gobbed" means, please Google it before purchasing this manga. There is a very good reason for the warning sticker on the lower left hand side. This manga is NSFW for artistic reasons, and it is not hentai but would be considered offensive by American parents. Also, for those of you who are purchasing the chapters individually, this volume collects Chapters 1-4. The bonus for buying the omnibus edition is an exclusive short story and omake deformed 4 panel in the end and saving a dollar over the serial purchase. There is no censoring from the serial edition.

Not As Obscene As Everyone Led Me To Believe
Multiple people on Reddit and on here have said that this book is quite graphic - both in sexuality and violence. Heck, the book is rated M (the highest rating for vanilla manga) and is wrapped in plastic to keep from prying eyes. Truth be told, it doesn't really deserve the M rating. The violence is pretty tame. Most of the killing is to goblin monsters and nothing is really in your face. Most is either done off screen or really quickly. There are some rape scenes - mostly implied from the angles (usually close ups of goblin face or an obstructed view). The nudity is mild considering the adult themes, just some bare boobs. Not that I am looking for some super hardcore sex stuff - that can be found easily enough elsewhere - I was just expecting a bit more from such a hard rated book. If you want extreme violence and some disturbing sexuality then check out Battle Royale. Came out over 15 years ago and truly pushed the limits. Now that is a book worthy of a M rating. This is more in the range of 16+ teen book As for the main story - it is fine enough. It was a nice twist to have the introduced party die in the first half of the book. Let's you know the stakes. The world is harsh and unfair. People die and are gone with no ceremony. The book ended on a good point, peaking my interest in the next volume. My only real gripe is the Goblin Slayer himself, or more specifically his design. He battles in full plate armor in close quarters while trapped inside a dark cave. That doesn't seem like the proper attire for the location. Its not like the author is unaware of battle strategy - Goblin Slayer openly criticizes a deceased party member for picking a longsword to fight in narrow quarters. But GS has his face mask down and just mows everything in front of him. Ok, sure. I will check out the next volume to see where the story opens up. I'd say check out the book if you are into medieval locations.

Been waiting
It's not as dark as other manga in the past, but it is fairly dark. I really enjoyed the killing of the Goblins since they make you hate them. If you're someone who watches moe for fun or light hearted crap and can't handle anything dark, than just stay away, don't need anymore complaining. It's been too long since something like this has come along. If your looking for something on Berserks level well this isn't on it, but if you looking for something close-ish well than this is a great read, or you can just watch the anime.

Reality is not sunshine and rainbows
Goblin Slayer is a well thought out premise pushed to its extreme. Goblins are evil, over populated, and not worth anyones time to deal with. From the first chapter you are shown just how little they care about people going on fun little adventures. Nobody is safe, and Goblin Slayer really hates Goblins. The story seems to be going places, but seems very "horde of the week" with fun details sprinkled in between. The art here is well above average, although a bit fan service-esque for better or for worse. Hopefully they can continue pushing this premise further, and I cant wait to see how Goblin Slayer will kill goblins next.

Is so hard today to come up with anything original and that's why I gave this 5 stars. There are a number of things in this story which are genuinely original. I mean no-one has a name....that's different - no? We are so used to the hero or often anti-hero being cool. Cute lines and a bad-ass look. But Goblin Slayer really doesn't seem to give a crap about any of that, he just wants to kill goblins. Somehow it makes him seem like a 'real' hero and makes the story sort of ...charming. The art is ok but not great. Like so many manga the translation isn't perfect enough and therefore it can be tough to follow in some sections (the light novels are better and feel more rounded because of it). Its the writing that wins it prizes though. Infrequent but very clever plot twists is one of the areas it excels. Sometimes dark, sometimes almost childish ..its a strange mix, but above all...its different.

Buenas gente!!.
