PlayMatesST Next Generation Enterprise D Ship

I purchased this for my husband for Father's Day and he was giddy! He immediately pulled it out of the box and popped it together easily. The sounds are really good and the lights really add a lot to it. I liked that even the clear stand was shaped like the Star Trek badges the characters wear.My husband loves it so much he refuses to take it to work so he could enjoy it more. He always takes his new toys to work so he must really like this one!It's worth every penny. The quality is amazing, the price is right and any Star Trek lover will enjoy its sounds, lights and look!

Star trek is back! and with that this beautiful model from playmates, it evokes beautifully the old models that they made adding better lighting better details and a Saucer Separation!, the plastic is sturdy although having owned the original playmates model in the past the plastic is not as sturdy as it used to, however it will still hold hours of play-ability by any little Trekkie outthere, besides that it is a great introduction to Star Trek!, now that the Enterprise D is back in ST Picard Season 3 (spoiler alert ups!) this is a great way to celebrate it's return!

Let the nostalgia begin! Well made and looks great. Includes lights and sounds. Saucer section can separate. Looks really cool in any collection or man cave. Recommended!!

This model is lovely. I love the detail, the lights and the sound effects. The saucer section separates just like on the series. It is well made and solid. But I only give it 4 out of 5 stars because of the stand.The stand is designed to snap together. Mine did but barely held together. I used airplane glue to keep the pieces together. There is a pin in the stand that snaps into the model. The pin is hinged at its base to allow 2D manipulation of the model. The base design is flimsy and can barely handle the weight of the model. Further in order display the model, I had to tilt it nose up. Clearly this base is an afterthought. No one is going to buy this model for the base. But it is an important component of the overall product. I wish they had made it more robust.

This toy is fantastic. The box it comes in looks very retro and similar to the original 1992 version with a few great refits. The clear game changer is that this version seperates the saucer section from the secondary hull (star drive section). The 1992 version, including the one with battle damage, did NOT seperate. This ship also comes with a display stand and takes 3 AAA batteries (included). It lights up and the lights are vivid and bright.My only negative comment is that there is a button to push to seperate the ship, HOWEVER, if you pull on both sections with just slight force (like I did to make sure it was connected properly) it will seperate without pushing the button. So the two sections could connect more solidly.I bought this for my 6 year old Grandson because he is constantly wanting to play with my Eaglemoss ships. It's $40.00 and he LOVES it!!! 5 minutes after getting it he promply told me, "Hey Pop, my ship seperates, yours don't."

This offering from Playmates is a nice update of their original 1990's version of the Enterprise-D. There's new molding, better lights and sounds and the addition of a separating saucer section. It's not 100% accurate to the model from the tv show, however, and honestly I don't think they were ever going for complete accuracy. There are a lot of missing details, and spots where paint applications would have been welcomed, but overall, as a simple update to the classic toy mold, this is a great little ship for the price. If you are looking for more show accuracy in an Ent-D replica, Diamond Select Toys' version is for you, but if you want a nice little desk ship, I think you'll be happy with this.

This is a super nice, high quality and nicely detailed product. It is fun to operate or cool to just display. Unlike others, I think the display stand is decent enough and supports the product just fine. Also most other display stands are fixed position but this one is adjustable, allowing the ship to be displayed in different angles and positions, which is another plus. The ship looks really nice when it lights up but the lights only stay on for 20 seconds or so per sound button presses. Having ALWAYS ON lighting would have been a nice option to have. More lights on the ship (as well as the saucer module) would have made displaying it just that much better. The sound fonts are somewhat basic though, on par with regular toys. But anyway, this is still a very impressive product, especially for the price. It is very much a worthy addition to any Star Trek or sci-fi collection.

The box arrived in great shape. the ship was great, my only issues are with the stand, it doesnt support the weight of the ship to display it nicely, but all in the the ship is fantastic !

This model of the NCC-1701-D looks really good and well built for its price, perfect companion to my NCC-1701-A. However, the stand that comes with it leaves much to be desired. The 2 pieces do not secure properly and often come loose. I'm considering super-gluing them together. As the ship is so wide compared to that single tiny pivot it sits on, it wobbles easily on the stand, so every time I press the buttons to trigger the sounds and lights, it just wobbles on and on and on. Real frustrating. But apart from this, I love this model from Playmates.
