Sauder Palladia 4-Drawer Chest, Vintage Oak finish

This was shipped via UPS and, had I been home when it arrived, I probably would have refused the delivery because they really mangled the box. I almost called and had them take it back, but on closer inspection, I could only see styrafoam packing through all the tears and mashed up cardboard in what had once, presumably, been a box. The plastic wrapping it was likewise shredded and I marveled that it was still there at all. That said, I have bought several other pieces from Sauder and know that they do pack things very well so hubby and I decided to roll the dice and open what was left of the box. Thanks to the care taken packing the parts at the factory, the dresser itself was miraculously unharmed.At first glance, the color is a beautiful dark cherry and the hardware has a brushed nickel type finish to it. (So far so good) Assembly was fairly straightforward, although finding the parts required for any given step would have been much easier had all the pieces been labeled. Identifying them became my job as I am the jigsaw puzzle junkie in the family. (So glad my often mocked skill finally served a practical purpose with hubby there to witness and even -HA!- require it!)After putting the main part of the dresser together, I assembled the drawers and handed them off to hubby to put in. That's where things went horribly awry. The top and bottom drawers kept hitting the trim pieces and wouldn't close all the way. Hubby is stubborn and grew too frustrated and foul-mouthed to be open to my suggestions for adjusting the rails on the sides of the drawers. It became personal and the language used cannot be quoted here, but he basically wanted to send it back and blamed me for buying such a cheap piece of....well, you get the point. When the 'aha moment' finally came to him, the drawers fell into place and it was no longer being returned because he decided it's 'really nice' and proceeded to pat himself on the back for two days. I now call him The Drawer Whisperer.Overall this piece is nice and sturdy and looks like it cost a lot more than what I paid for it. The drawers are nice and deep and function properly. The pulls add a nice touch of shine without looking bedazzled. I like it a lot.Tip for assembling: when the time comes to adjust the drawers, the top one has to be at it's lowest setting and the bottom one at the highest in order to clear the moldings. The middle drawers should be set...well... somewhere in the middle. Some fine tuning will likely be needed to get all the spacing even so don't give up. Oh, and if you feel the need to swear at me until u get it right, it's okay. I'm used to it. ;)

Ok...So we bought the set, times 2, and they all match our cherry brown sley bed Perfectly!I ❤ HAVE to upload a picture, because these guys look like tbey belong in the 1,000 dollar range. No lie.The are the perfect match for a cherry oak, dark brown themed room.I truly couldn't be happier.The drawers are SO SO Deep! Simply the Best.Soooooo much extra room!The are SO strong, and SO elegant!If you want to look like you broke the bank, but didn't; buy these, but don't tell anyone the price!Thank you Sauder Palladia, and Amazon!!!!Now, on another note....Don't ask my husband how he feels about putting them together. 🤬😠😡That's a WHOLE different Story, lol.He says it's a six hour job for him, and he's an expert at building.Soooooo......Make sure you make time to make time for these puppies.But Lord, they are Worth it.Even He said that, sweat, swears, and All. 😊❤☺

This takes some time to put together, at least it die for me, like 5 hours but I must say the outcome was better than I expected. It seems really sturdy and the drawers slide out really well. My only suggestion is to follow the instructions step by step. In total there are 23 steps and they are clear but you still have to read carefully and follow the pictures on in the instruction manual. Overall really kool dresser.

We recently purchased a Sauder night stand and absolutely loved it. I really like this company because they make furniture in the USA and the instructions are well written by people who speak English and even have a sense of humor. The illustrations are accurate and have helpful hints like pointing out which side faces which way or where the holes should be so you don’t orient anything the wrong way. We had high hopes for this dresser but were sorely disappointed! It partially self-destructed under its own weight during construction and I had to go to the hardware store and buy stuff to reinforce the damaged areas. Almost all the structural integrity comes from the back plane which is literally made of cardboard. The rollers for the drawers do not roll. I think I will need to replace them with better ones. The drawers don’t fit perfectly and have to be yanked on to pull out. It is good that it comes with a strap to fasten it to the wall; use it! I am sure my son would tip the dresser over onto himself just trying to get it open were it not for that strap. Again I like the company, but this particular product is lousy.
