A new favorite
Exceptional quality for the price. The finish is flawless, and the tolerances are spot on. Little bit of fret sprout on the upper frets, but I will let it "settle down" a week or so after having been shipped in the September heat. Arrived with everything detuned a half step. Tuned it up and played briefly. Feels really really good. The balance and weight are perfect, as is the 12" radius with med. jumbo frets. Just an outstanding guitar all around. Maybe a bit heavy for younger players, but I would tell you to buy it for them anyway. They'll grow into it.

Very Good Guitar
I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend. The only complaint I have is when we received it one of the screws were out and wasn’t in a bag so we almost lost it. Still a great guitar though!

Sounds amazing
I bought this because I wanted a Les Paul guitar without buying a Les Paul. I had to remount the knobs, and one of the tuners is slightly askew, but that doesn't really affect the performance of it. I read 4 major media reviews on this guitar and each one called it the guitar to beat at this price point so, I bought it, and I agree its sounds amazing .

Fantastic guitar, makes me want to play all day
Love it but there action needs set and the pickup height as well. Got one brand new by ordering one and I'll never go back to paying full price for a floor model at stores, they'll order me a new one or I'll do it myself from now on. So yeah anyways, the action, intonation, etc all arrived in decent shape but not great so it'll need that but no surprise there. Definitely gonna want new tuners cause it don't hold tune for squat. It's a great guitar though, the action is too low on the low e but hopefully that'll be fixable without slowing down the guitar much.

I love everything about this guitar
This guitar is just a stunning value. There is really nothing to complain about- the fit and finish are very good, it plays excellent, and most people will never be able to tell that this is a Chinese made version as opposed to the Japanese. Don't get me wrong, the Japanese versions are on another level, but you have to pay for that. You have to see these in person to appreciate how great the paint jobs are on these. For those that don't know, Fender markets, distributes, and contracts the manufacturing of these guitars for Gretsch, and quite frankly Fender's quality is really driving the industry right now. Every price range they make a guitar in is on par or better than anyone else's offerings. For me, this is a much more appealing single cut guitar than the stalwart Les Paul design. The only thing that could make this better would be to have real Filtertrons on it. But the Broadtron humbuckers are not bad on this- they are more than usable. I'm just not super huge into humbuckers in general. However, I bought this guitar because occasionally I do like to get that sound as opposed to my single coil, P90, and Jazzmaster pickup equipped guitars. The only mod I may make to this is probably upgrading to locking tuners. Other than that, the rest of the hardware to me is awesome, especially for the price. If you can't justify the cost of a Japanese Gretsch, do yourself a favor and try one of these. You won't regret it.

Great Guitar, right out of the box
Although I didn't purchase mine from Amazon, which is rare. I felt since I own this model I might help others that are considering buying this guitar. First, disregard it's origin. I have two Gretsch guitars made in China. And I have two American made. Which cost significantly more. Aside from the fact of having spent a LOT more money, and getting a case, you won't notice much more difference than that. This guitar is awesome. And ready to play right out of the box. Clean is pristine and fit for any type playing. Or you can crunch down and howl with the best of them, from Zep to whatever turns you on. Fit and finish are great. Neck and fret work flawless. Tuners tight. This baby stays in tune better than my Gibson Les Paul. And honestly I enjoy playing it more than my LP. It's lighter. For the money, you can't beat it.
