Mens Fashion is a real mystery to me.Where as women take great care to show a 'look' that coordinates with their hair, their make-up or their lifestyle or simply imply their desirability, men's dress sense seems haphazard in contrast! Men, if they think about it at all, will just throw on 'something', irrespective if it looks good or not!That is apparently what is shown in Giuseppe Santamaria's book 'Men in the town'. Men wearing anything and everything in between.The photography in this book, is superb. Perfectively exposed, selectively focused and rendered with realistic colour and tone. The photographer is an artist, second to none. Men, going about their daily lives, dressed in their own person style is where this book shines. Much of the scenes resemble candid street scenes. Few, if any of the subjects seen, are posed. Some of the subjects gaze subjectively at the camera lens, others appear blissfully unaware.Overall, this book has given me a better sense of what I can wear and not feel as if I stand out, in bad taste, lol. There isn't any one dominant style of clothing in this book, this is good for the seemingly "haphazardness", adds to the diversity of Fashion and the oft simplicity of personal elegance as seen on the street.I like this book, it broadened my perception of what I could wear. It didn't answer my question I held in mind of 'what men's fashion actually is' but it matters little. I would have preferred more text and perhaps a definition of a dominant men's style, but oh well. I quite enjoyed this book and the variety of bicycles ridden by the men featured!

Loved the photos and feel (texture) of the book

Wonderful and inspirational book that features men from all walks of life.What I really like about Guiseppe Santamaria's book MEN IN THIS TOWN: LONDON, TOKYO, SYDNEY, MILAN AND NEW YORK is that he photographs men of different colors and ages, and with different styles of dress, so you aren't just looking at guys wearing 3-piece suits.There are several spotlight interviews with a few guys in the book, but for the most part this book has limited text descriptions of the outfits.The pages are printed on thick, but matte pages and it comes with its own bookmark.

The book was a delight to look through. It was what I expected, however, for some reason I thought it would have been a bit larger, more photos. it was well priced and came ahead of schedule. Will certainly order more items in the future.

I got this gift for my fashion-conscious cousin at a gift swap. Not only did he love it, but everyone thought it was really cool, and it was passed around the whole night.

Amazing book from start to finish. I've bought all three in the series and look forward to more!!!

For those of you who are looking for high-quality pictures of men with great style, (i.e.,"The Sartorialist") you can forget about this book. I went through the first 10 pages and saw not one guy whose style warranted any attention, much less a picture, much less a picture published in a book. The looks are pedestrian, the photographs equally so and don't even get me started about the text, such as it is. I have many books on men's style and clothing and this one went straight to our "library donation pile."

Purchased this for a male friend for Christmas, he absolutely loved it! A wonderful gift for any fashion conscious man in your life. The images are well staged and diverse, while still maintaining a 'street-feel'. I would say photography and fashion students would also love this.

Those interested in menswear and street style will love looking through the wonderful images in this book. Great size book filled with wonderfully shot images of stylish men out and about in major cities.

Brought as a gift for my partner for Christmas, he is extremely fashion conscious and absolutely loved the variety within this book. Not a lot of writing, but a very real representation of modern men within different cities. Would highly recommend!
