Music for a Darkened Theatre, Vol. 2: Film & Television Music

Danny Elfman has been part of rewriting how music should work with film and this is a great way to hear it for one's self. The stuff from Edward and Batman Returns make this worth owning in and of it's self. This is a pretty good place to start with his post Oingo Boingo career.

I bought this and volume one. I couldn't decide which one to order but I was pleased with both. I started looking at the cds in the first place because I really wanted some music from Edward Scissorhands. I wasn't sure if I wanted a whole soundtrack so I bought these instead and I love them. It is a very good collection, and like some others have said I would like to get a 3rd volume with some newer stuff on it.

I was a little disappointed in this compilation. The second disc is so much less than the first. Should have stopped at the first one and broken tradition with B side blahs.

I need all volumes -the music is great. The only reason it is missing one star is because this particular item came newly wrapped, but the case got cracked pretty badly during packing/shipping. The CD was fine, though.

I got his CD because I love Danny Elfman's music and I can usually pick it out anywhere. Most people know him from Tim Burton's movies but he has done some other work as well. I really enjoy this CD and like to listen to while working or trying to get into a artistic mood.

If you like his soundtracks or want some good background music, this is a great way to listen. What more can I say?

I am a big fan of Elfman. When I saw this I had to order it. It fantastic for any music lover.
