Does this decrypt encrypted police transmission?

If it's anything like our transmissions in the military, we changed the "key" every (30) days, and had to physically upload the "translation" basically to all the comm centers. And on top of THAT, we'd have to go and physically make sure all of the hand-held's (CYZ-10's) linked up to the new crypto. I doubt that any department is that high-speed "yet", but sort of knowing what goes into signals being encrypted, I wouldn't hold my breath that you could buy something like on Amazon. YUT!

Can the sds 100 be updated using chrome os? or does it have to be a windows os?

You need an emulator to do this. Use Crossover for MAC to download sentinel. Don't use the free ones, they never work like they should....especially if you're using a newer OS like MAC Big Sur.

Will it receive 800 mhz state, county and local police transmission?

Yes, The SDS200 will cover unencrypted Police transmissions.

What the differences in capabilities between the sds100 and the sds200?

The SDS100 is mobile handheld. The SDS200 is a mobile (vehicle) unit, not a desktop unit as noted above. The may be minor differences and capability differences and I would look at full spec sheet of each one to verify.
