Fits the thinner plywood being sold these days
Super sharp bits. Used pliers to remove them then put a little oil on the shaft so they're easy to replace and extract from the holder

Great bits! Annoying packaging.
Great bits, as always, but Freud apparently isn't listening to anyone regarding their packaging. The worst part about buying any Freud bit is getting it out of the plastic piece holding it in the packaging. These annoying holders are in this wood case as well. After fighting to get them out they'll be going into a bit rack and the wood box will probably sit in the scrap pile until I get around to tossing it in the fire pit. Don't bother with the box and cut the price a few bucks Freud.

Standard Freud quality
Bits are excellent and quite sharp. As others have noted, the only gripe about these is really that they are hard to get out of the box the first time without getting cut.A tip for unboxing:The bit holder piece is just a piece of wood screwed into the case on both sides, so unscrew it and place in a vise. wrap a soft, thick towel around the sharp bits to protect them and yourself, and gently work them one at a time out of the block using pliers on the towel so you don't damage the bits. Once they're out, put them back in only half as far so you can get them out easily but they won't fall out, then screw the holder back into the case using the original holes.

Reasonable set for the money. Works well on many materials.
I picked up this set to save a few dollars and avoid single pack packaging. It showed up as pictured. Noted others frustration with getting out bits, so I unscrewed the sides, pulled out the bit holder and was able to pry it out with a screwdriver and pull it out. Understand for international shipping they want it in there really firm. Like that a wood working supply sells it in a wood box. Not sure if it’s going to stay like that over time, but I’d rather pay for a reusable box than plastic that is trash. This set is very helpful for routering out holes to hold different size tools. Using mostly on plastic and wood and a bit of metal and so far so good.

Good bits, terrible box
The bits are excellent in quality, and the set is much cheaper than buying them individually. The box on the other hand, oof.I understand that they want the bits to be tight for shipping. But it was almost like they where glued in place. I had to find gloves to remove them without being cut.Once the bits are nice and broken in they do go in and out if their slots easy enough. But there's no reason for it to be so difficult to start. If your just after the bits. Do it, they are excellent.

Great bits, insanely sharp. Hate the Freud bit cases.
I have used the 3/4" bit to cut 1/4" deep dados in maple plywood for cabinet shelves. The cut is very clean, just a little bit of fuzz from the veneer that easily sanded off.For my particular plywood, the dados were extremely tight. Next time I'll adjust my jig and make sure to do a second pass on the other side of the cut to give the shelf a little more room.I've also used the 1/4" bit to cut large holes in some 1/4" plywood. Worked great--cut the wood like butter. There was a fair amount of veneer fuzz with the 1/4" bit, but these are mid-range straight blade bits, so I am not too picky about their cuts.As others have noted, the Freud router bit cases are downright dangerous. The bits are so sharp, and the bits are held in the case so tight, that it sometimes makes me nervous getting them out. I always have to wear leather work gloves when removing any Freud bit from its case, and even then, I am careful. I have put some silicone on the bit shaft to make them easier to remove, but the cases are just too tight. Do NOT attempt to remove the bits with your bare hands. They will cause some damage.

Removal Suggestion
I haven't had a chance to use my new bits yet but, after reading reviews I wanted to remove the bits to try to resolve the issue of the excessively small rubber bushings. I did remove the largest bit with an old belt and small channel locks. During the removal process I did notice that since the bushings are rubber, if you use a counter clockwise circular motion while twisting they do come out a little easier. I was able to remove three of the bits using an old belt or a small piece of scrap leather and the CCW rotation method without using channel locks. I will update the review at a later date after using the bits.

router bit cuts fine if you find a way and are able to remove them from packaging
these are decent bits at this price point.I have seen a lot of ridiculous packaging in my long work life, but this Freud bit set brakes all bad packaging records. It is virtually impossible to remove the bits out of their rubber sockets without resorting to nuclear measures.I send the first set back as it appeared somebody tried to remove one of the bits with a tool and chipped the carbide I opted for a replacement as I needed the bits urgently, (my existing set disappeared from my toolbox on jobsite) . I tried everything to remove these bits out of their extremely tight rubber/ plastic sockets, to no avail, I ended up cutting the rubber sockets out with a long bladed exacto knife after removing the insert with the bits off the otherwise nicely made wooden box. Its mind boggling that apparently nobody in charge at Freud ever tried to remove the bits themselves as it seems inconceivable to me that they would ship the router bits this way.I use sockets as supplied by LeeValley for dozen's of my other bits with great success, they fit snugly and hold the bits securely, but I have never seen anything like this. So my rating is not for the quality of the bits but for the ignorance of Freud management to supply a product which is impossibe to remove from the packaging. There is great danger to cut yourself badly as one has to pull on the bits sharp carbide cutters. So be extremely careful.

Even the BOX is good quality!
Just received today. Bits are in *tight* collars and razor-sharp, so use a tool to pr them out the first time lest you slice a finger open. Really appreciate finding these specialty sizes in 1/2" shank. They're available for less with 8mm shanks, but I suspect most of us in North America still use routers with Imperial collets (and the price difference between 8mm and 1/2" isn't enough to buy a metric router).

Smooth and fast, but you'll need 2 passes for some undersize sheets
so there must be more than 1 size of undersize plywood. I had to make the first pass, then adjust the fence to take off another 34 thou or so. Yes it's do-able, but it requires 2 times the passes with a large project it's a pain. So I wonder if there should be 2 sizes of "undersize" plywood bits. They do cut smoothly with no burn and no vibration. Arrived with damaged box, no biggie that's a shipping faux pas

Great Freud quality at a very competitive price
Great Freud quality at a very competitive price.Be careful removing the bits from their storage box. The shanks are bound up in the rubber grommet and could possibly cause a cut. Wear gloves when removing!Worth every penny.
