Does it have a quick release mechanism? In other words, releases the hair without having to back out the wand and/or pull on it?
hot to touch while styling?
Does it dry your hair like a blow dryer? I tried a hot air brush that said that it dried your hair but it took almost an hour to dry. I don't have that much time.
Does it have a cool shot to set the curls?

Wonderful Styling Tool...

When the brush attachment on my more than 10-year old Conair Hot Air Brush began to disintigrate, I looked to see what new model Conair had available. The Conair Ceramic Ionic Hot Air Brush incorporated the newer ceramic and ionic technologies while still retaining the desirable features of its predacessor. After determining that replacing the brushes would cost more than a new Conair Ceramic Ionic Hot Air Brush from Amazon, I decided to purchase an entire new unit. Amazon's price is far and away the best on the web and beats local retailers by at least $10.The Conair Ceramic Ionic Hot Air Brush is ideal for finishing many hairstyles. While its 1000 watt power makes it impractical as one's only drying tool for longer hair, it does a fine job on shorter, cropped styles. As someone with chin-length hair, I find my Infiniti by Conair SD8 Tourmaline Ceramic Styler provides the power I need to do the initial drying phase of my style. However, my hair is somewhat boxed in the back and has a tendency to flip upward no matter what I do. The brush on the Infiniti by Conair SD8 Tourmaline Ceramic Styler has proven to be a bit large to handle my hair's length in the back in styling the turn-under. The Conair Hot Air Brush, on the other hand, is just what I needed for producing a lovely, slightly turned under curve. It is compact enough to handle the finish work on the rest of my hair without a problem. This allows me to get a nice straight look without subjecting my hair, on a daily basis, to the intense heat of a flat iron. The new ceramic and ionic features do impart additional shine to my hair and seem to cut down on the fly-away strays I have. The brush has not burned my hair which I color about every four weeks using Clairol's Natural Instincts. The diameter of this hot air brush's handle portion has been reduced a bit from its former iterations. I have small hands and have no problems holding or manipulating the brush. This is particularly important as I am dealing with a non-functional left-hand and must be able to style my hair with only one hand. The tools are fairly easy to put on and remove, even with one hand; this may be because Conair is still using the same system that was used on my older Conair hot air brush. The on-off switch operates smoothly and is much easier to move than the switch on my older model. The Conair Ceramic Ionic Hot Air Brush is easy to pack for travel as the pieces are sufficiently compact so the fit into the "dead spaces" between clothing and other necessities packed in your carryon or checked baggage. You will not regret purchasing the Ceramic Ionic Hot Air Brush - it is quite functional and does an excellent job as a styling tool. I fully expect it will be as long lasting as my last Conair hot air brush.

The quality

Totally love this hair dryer it works very well on curly hair I have 3b hair and it straightens it perfectly. Also love the attachments that it came with.

Lightweight and easy to use!

I love this dryer. It's lightweight and easy to use. I could wish it had a little more variety in controls, there is only high speed or low speed, no choice in heat. But I find that it does a good job with my hair. I'm 72, with a decent amount of hair, I recently had a perm and was looking for something that would accentuate my styling, not blow it away. This dryer is perfect for that. I originally bought it for the rollers but I use the dryer, with the diffuser more often. The barrels are a little big for my taste but the smaller one does a decent job now that my permanent is starting to soften. I would definitely recommend this product.

This did work great for me until it didn't.

I did really like this hair dryer brush. It did work pretty great, until it stopped turning on and off. So, only has a high setting that works. I would say it's 4 star until it no longer turns on and off. That is a bummer. I used the low setting the most. I have curly, wavy hair and it was good for me. Easier than using a regular hair brush and a hair dryer. But now to turn it on and off, I either have to unplug it or use the red and yellow buttons on the plug.

Boar bristles on both brush heads. Give size options for short or long hair. Comfortable to hold.

Only good thing is it has boar bristles. The unit is too big. Need a man's size hand. When moving my hand, I end up pushing the speed to high which is higher than any I have used before. I used the low. High is too hot and too noisey. Less bristles than my older unit so doesn't give the curl. My other units burn out because lint restricts the air flow even when clearing out as much as possible. Each new unit gets worse. My last unit I called the company because I throw out the smaller bursh that is hard plastic but also want this size. I tried it once and could not get my hair out that was tangled. Almost had to cut my hair. This units larger brush is way too big. I have short hair. I hate nylon brisles. Just make the unit size like others with boar brisles on both brush heads and double the amount of bristles. Have the option for short hair of 1/2" or whatever you call the smaller diameter and the next a 1". I would return this one but can't find any others with boar bristles in all my searches. I really do hate this unit and another brush head to throw away. My hand aches from holding the unit.

Excellent hair dryer and styler

I needed a product that works for medium length thinning hair. This product is good because it has a lower speed setting that is good for thinning hair. It dries my hair quickly and styles my hair the way I like because I don't have to use a hair brush since the product dries and styles at the same time.

Not For Me

I was looking for a dryer brush that would work with shorter, chin length hair. The larger brushes are too bulky. This dryer is somewhat smaller, at least the smallest attachable brush is, but I sent it back. My hair would get tangled in the smaller brush, and I have fine, mostly straight hair. The connector where you change brushes or place the drying concentrator got so hot I could hardly stand to touch it. It was easy to accidentally move the button from low to high (when you didn't want to) while using it. The heat was good. This has the potential to be a good hair appliance if the issues were corrected.
