Coaster Headboard W/Lighting Box 1 of 4-Light Cappuccino

(UPDATE - Reduced from 4 to 1 stars, see updates below)It took us a really long time to find a bed that we like and this one looked great in the pics. We LOVE the look of it - very elegant and the three lights add a lot to the look and feel of the room. Issues to be aware of:1. One light bulb broke while in delivery and a million tiny glass pieces were all over one of the boxes. This is REALLY stupid, I mean how hard it is to wrap the three light bulbs with bubble wrap in separate little boxes? For some reason they decided to assemble the bulbs while packing this instead. This created so much more work to clean the tiny little pieces of glass (and sure enough, I cut myself along the way).2. Once assembled, the bed is sturdy but during the installation I got the sense that it's not the most sturdy bed I've ever seen. If 100 represents the sturdiest bed you've seen, this one is 80. Not bad for the price and very much acceptable but could be sturdier.3. Came with 2-3 small scratches (probably from the delivery). They are in a spot that's hard to see so it's really not a big deal at all, but it gives the impression that it can scratch easily.4. To turn on the light bulbs, there's a cool little touch button that's sensitive to human touch (very cool) but the problem is that they only put that button on the right side of the bed (when you're standing in front of the bed). Well, I sleep on that side and my wife on the other, which means, she can't control the lights. Again - how hard is it to add another button on the other side? so easy to fix I might just go to Home depot and get a second switch myself.5. I called amazon about the broken glass and the scratches and they gave me 10% refund, which is more than enough to get a new light bulb and to get an espresso pen from Home Depot to cover the scratches.In summery: I really do love this bed and even with the flows, I would buy it again (not to mention the price compared to most other beds I've seen). It's a really good deal for a good bed, just be aware of the cons before you decide if it's a good fit for you.And a comment to the manufacturer/seller (if they even read these comments): pack the bulbs well and separately and add another button/switch on the other side of the bed - these are SOOOOO easy to do, it's a no brainer, and you'll get yourself a few more fans :)UPDATE: Amazon gave me the manufacturer's number. I called them but met with a rude and impatient customer support person. All I wanted was to ask if they can send an extra light bulb (since there are special looking bulbs) and an espresso color paint pen so I can paint over the scratches. She said they won't send these and won't even tell me what bulb it is so I can get it myself. It's not so much the fact that they can't help as much as her attitude that made it rude. Then I told her they should look into packing these bulbs in a better way so they won't break (trying to help them get better but I guess they don't want any feedback). She gave me a 'whatever' attitude and weren't very interested in even pretending to care. She said they can't control the packing since it's sold via Amazon but it's not Amazon that's packing this, this came in the original factory packaging. Anyhow, good bed for the price but you should be aware of all the issues and the bad customer support. I said earlier I would buy again but with this kind of attitude toward customers, I take it back and won't do business with them again, thus lowered from 4 to 2 stars.UPDATE #2 (half a year later): The bed broke. In the middle of the night.... While we're sleeping on it... And we're not that heavy people lol... Amazon tells me the company has a warranty and to deal with them directly; the company first said to deal with Amazon and only after telling them Amazon told me to call them, they are now checking and will get back to me. I'll update as soon as the fiasco ends...

The media could not be loaded.  My wife and I absolutely love this bed. We had a few criteria in mind. It needed to be:1. Good looking2. Durable and well made3. Have spaces in the headboard4. Spaces must have lighting5. Must be a standard "European" king sized bed, not California6. Under $750 shippedAfter a while it seemed nearly impossible find a bed that hit all of the things on the wishlist but we definitely found it with this one. We got the standard king for just under $600 shipped in 2013 and have been perfectly happy ever since.It shipped in very nice packaging, assembled easily within 1 hour, and was in perfect condition with no issues whatsoever. The only con I could find is that the dimmer/light switch is only on the right side, when facing the bed.I just found out that you can use LED lights in the headboard space! I tested a few of the cheaper ones form Home Depot and they didn't work properly in the first two dimming modes but this one  Philips 423798 10.5-Watt to 13-Watt (65 Watt) BR30 Indoor Soft White (2700K) Flood LED Light Bulb, Dimmable  works just fine in all three modes. It's not quite as warm as the included bulbs but if you use your lights often they will definitely help you save a lot of energy, especially if you only use the lowest setting.Please watch the video to see the bed and a comparison between the LED and the standard bulb lighting.

Got this bed today and it arrived heavily damaged one the left side of the headboard. This is the 11th day after ordering from amazon and I am concerned how much of a hassle this is going to be to get fixed or replaced. For now I will rate as one star and I will update as this issue is dealt with.Also the truck driver called me this morning asking me for directions from Atlanta which was really strange..*UPDATE 11/28/2013I put the order in for the bed the 4th. It is almost a month later now and although I have contacted the seller and they said they will be shipping the replacement part, that was about 2 weeks ago. I would warn anyone looking to buy a bed online. It might be better to go to a brick and mortar store.*Final UpdateI did end up getting the replacement part (The entire headboard) a few days after my last update but I got very busy with the holidays, work, and family. This one arrived much better packaged but... It was still freakin damaged. This one wasnt as badly damaged as the first but the damage was on the front instead of the side so it was more noticeable. They NEED to get someone else to ship their packages because whoever the use currently is very bad at their job and ruined what otherwise was a fantastic bed. I ended up sawing off a piece from the second headboard and replacing the damaged piece from the first headboard. Luckily im handy because every piece of the headboard is screwed and glued in. I think they should re-think how they attach these parts as it would be easier to unscrew a piece if it needs replaced than sawing it.In closing. This bed is amazing. Its the best one iv'e ever owned and both I and my girlfriend love it. The cubby holes provide a great space for my alarm clock, phone, wallet, tablet, kindle, you name it. The different light settings allow my to read in bed without disturbing her and when she goes to bed before me she can leave them on low and fall asleep without them bugging her. The bed looks nice overall and is a sturdy piece of hardware that will last for quite some time. My only non-shipping complaint is, much like everyone else thinks, there needs to be a second control for the lights on the other side.If you have the choice to get this bed in a store then get it hands down. But the whole shipping a bed thing seems to be a problem for them still. Until they get that part fixed, buyer beware.(I debated on what stars to give this for a long time and determined that even though the bed is fantastic, the shipping hassle ruined my overall experience and as a result I will not buy a bed online in the future. Without the shipping hassle this would have been an easy 5 star but because of that I will leave it at a 3.)
