does this ball come with a pump?

You know, I can't remember if it did. It is super easy to blow up though. I have bought the Slo Mo balls, and it's EXACTLY the same thing. They both are good quality, and easy to blow up w/ a plastic tube, or a small pump. Very durable. Again, look at slo mo ball. Way Cheaper for the Exact same thing!

What is this ball made of? Does it smell funky or chemically?

The Coregeous ball is made of a flexible rubbery type of polyethylene (I think?) When inflated, it is soft and really great for working on your back and abdominal muscles. It has just the right amount of give and does a great job while also remaining durable. It does not smell bad at all. Hope this helps.

do these have any give? I need something not rock hard and has a little give to massage near my ribs

The coregeous ball is fantastic for abdominal/rib/spine rolling. I use it personally and with many of patients. It has plenty of give. It is an inflatable ball so it can have variable give based on your needs.

I don’t understand how to blow this item up? How do you put the plug in once you blow it up? It immediately deflated when I pull the tube out.

Yes it is tricky. You just have to do it quickly. Perhaps put your finger over the hole is soon as you pull the tube out and then put the plug in.
