I have an older mirror that is flaking. Is this a product that I can spray on the backside of my mirror to improve the look in a subtle manner, or will it be too obvious
Would this spray work on resin/high gloss-finished surfaces. Ex: Paint directly on resin surface, then after paint dries, apply coat of resin on top?
I need to reduce lumens of a light bulb without affecting color temperature? Is it translucent?
What finish results would be spraying this over a chrome spray can finish

Shiny silver

Used working on a project to make a window look like mercury glass. Worked very well. Can was not a, what I call, "full size" can. It was smaller than your normal ones.

Lots of applications -- one can painted about 15 square ft. of glass.

I used this paint to refinish some tables I got for free at a thrift store. The glass tops were terribly scratched and needed some camouflage badly! I found a tutorial online that explained how to use this paint to obtain a 'mercury glass' finish. It was really easy! All you need is water, white vinegar, a spray bottle, and some paper towel. I painted the reverse side of my glass because durability is a factor in my home.Mix ½ water and ½ white vinegar in your spray bottle, and spritz your glass lightly until the water beads. You don't want it to be soaked, just lightly misted.Spray a healthy, even coat of Krylon Looking Glass paint over the vinegar/water mixture until your glass is completely coated. Wait about 5 minutes for the paint to become tacky.Spray a paper towel lightly with the vinegar/water mixture. LIGHTLY wipe the paper towel over the glass, taking care not to press too hard. The areas where the vinegar and water beaded up will come away clean, while the dry areas of the glass should still have paint attached. Allow the paint to finish drying.I love the way my 'mercury glass' looks! I ended up using a contrasting color (Krylon's 24k Gold) as a second coat after I wiped off the first layer, because I wanted to have some color showing through. I think this would be beautiful with any contrasting metallic color. If you spray lightly, the glass will maintain some translucency. It worked fantastically as camouflage for the scratches in the glass, you can't even see them anymore, even when you're looking for them. The finish gives a very 'glam' update to these shabby-chic tables. Great product!

Perfect

I used this to spray and old plated tray. At first I was a bit skeptical but after 24 hours it looks beautiful. You have a really difficult time differentiating from polished silver.

Not a shiny review

I used this paint on the inside of a mirror glass (i.e., opposite of the reflective side) as directed. The purpose was to fill-in a 1" x 1" area of a medicine cabinet mirrored door that had lost its reflective coating on the inside (a latching magnet had pulled away the interior reflective coating near the bottom of the mirror). I removed the mirrored door and set it down flat inside my spray paint booth with powered exhaust, with the glass-side down. I carefully cut away loose ends from the remaining original mirror coating and wiped the area clean. I masked off every part of the mirror except for the small area to be painted and a little extra all around. Air temperature was about 65 degrees F. I shook the paint can vigorously for a couple minutes, as directed, and then sprayed five thin coats of the paint with a sweeping motion, waiting a minute between each coating. From the painted side, after the paint had dried (I waited more than the 10 minutes prescribed on the can), the surface looked smooth and shiny. I expected that the glass side would be even more so. I was sorely sorely surprised and disappointed when I finally removed the masking tape and viewed the mirrored side. The area I painted produced no more than a dull reflection, about what one would expect from an aluminum metallic paint (I had a can of that on hand, but did not use it in favor of purchasing and using this "looking glass" paint). Luckily the area I painted is near the bottom and to the side of the mirror, so it is not prominent when you look at the mirror. Nonetheless, I certainly expected more.

Must follow directions closely!

This is a great, innovative paint product! First of all, the spray nozzle is wonderful. It is very easy to differentiate the end that the spray comes out of from the other side that you depress. They have the side that dispenses the product marked with a square silver patch. Makes it easy for those of us who are visually impaired!Secondly, it truly does look like a mirror when used as directed! You have to spray the inside of the item that you want to look like mirror, not the outside. Therefore, using this on anything other than glass will not work. It has to be able to show through. If you paint something directly on top, the paint will look like just plain metal, this is the side that you see, but when you paint the inside of a glass, the underside of the paint looks like mirror. I actually saw on Pinterest an idea where someone painted the base of a lamp with this paint...which is why I purchased it. The look we were going for was a metal base. It worked perfectly for this. So, you can use it two ways: 1. to make glass appear as a mirror; or 2. to make any item appear like it is actually metal.I only gave the product 4 stars instead of 5 because they should have included a long nozzle attachment for getting into the bottom of a glass. We tried using this on a tall Coke glass, but it didn't come out good because in order to get all the way to the bottom of the glass, we had to point the can toward the bottom, spray until there is enough build up of paint, and then roll the glass around to coat the bottom half of the glass. It didn't come out at all. It just looked like metal. The directions are very clear that the paint will not work correctly and look like a mirror unless you spray a thin coat, wait one minute, spray another very thin coat, wait a minute, then continue repeating until you have done this 5 times or more. Well, it is impossible to get the can down into a tall glass so you can spray thin strokes! There needs to be some sort of attachment. Other than that, we really enjoyed using it and I will probably be ordering another can in the future.
